  2. My wife had this call last year while I was at work. She was told our computer had a virus and was in a critical situation and would crash imminently. Again told to switch on computer and started playing around moving stuff on screen in front of her. They told her they could fix it for a fee of about £150. She told them she wanted to speak to me first but they tried strong arming her saying 'it needs doing immediately'. That's when she realised something fishy maybe going on. My wife said she would wait to speak to me and take her chances before hanging up. They can come across very plausible until you start making life a little hard for them and then they can start getting a bit aggressive. For the record, I don't think Microsoft ever ask for money over the phone. The computer never crashed!!!!

  8. Farmers often use them for barns. Seems to work well for them. As others have said, they use them whole not milled.

  11. I'm not going to be much help here, but there are rumours of a shortage this year and it does appear to be difficult to source seasoned wood. Maybe not the best year to start selling logs. I wish you luck in your enterprises

  13. My calculations make it 4 hours but that aside, the men should certainly get paid a full day as I expect they have been on site since around 8am.

  17. Good idea that, can make some customers obliged to go with you. Hand them out for big jobs and the nicer jobs.
  18. Very true Mark. I've got a couple of interesting leads locally, so thread not in vain.
