  1. I'm sure husky will say 'well you were not using husky 2 stroke so..'.
  2. I would not change the auto box, aswell as having the benefits of auto, I find them a lot more comfortable to drive, no heavy clutch and gearbox.
  3. A mate of mine who does solely stump grinding uses a method as a rule of thumb of £1 per cm diameter. Obviously this depends on site, access etc etc. Hope this helps.
  4. Defo wash cycle, after a spin it comes out near on dry
  5. An advantage would be, much better off road and reversing into tight areas. Be good for utility work where its not so often to remove chip from site and a lot of the work is off road.
  6. Shouldn't that be on the 'overloaded' thread!!
  7. Agree with all the above. Tyres make all the difference, after all, it is these that are giving you grip! If you do get stuck with the trailer, it is sometimes worth unhitching and pulling it with a rope. If it is not twin/triple axle watch that you do not bend the jockey wheel.
  8. I think that is £150 well spent. Like you varty, I don't have a website.

    small van

Some of the newer small vans come with 3 seats in the front which can be very handy at times. I would get one with side door/s too.
  10. Ahh. I've not spoken to anyone yet but need to order quite a few bits and pieces and was going to add it in with that. There are several of us who use the axes on log days so will give a review from all of our perspectives.
  11. I own an x27 that I really like and am looking for a second axe but have decided on the Gransfors maul.
  12. Thank you jon, dan and bobh
  13. I like that idea devon twig.
  14. It is not a legal requirement to wear gloves so presumably the assessor just r/a it off and then it would be fine.
  15. Very true, though it is a difficult art to master and takes far longer than becoming a pro user of a saw imo.
  16. Anyone down on the south coast know how big the waves are today, are they as big as expected?
  17. Cheers mate. Yes that is the maul I am looking to purchase.
  18. I rarely use the humbolt and when I have done, have back cut level.
  19. Is the back of the gransfors designed to be used as a sledge, or is that a no no?
  20. The 3rd picture that Mat has posted here, the woodland on the hill in the background is in fact a yew woodland. I was told that it is the largest of its kind in the country but I cannot remember the source of that information so stand to be corrected. An amazing woodland none the less.
  21. Where is the photo taken @ 1400 with the tower in the back ground Mat?
  22. On a regular gob cut, your back cut should be level or above. So then with the humbolt cut, should the back cut be level or a little below? I imagine so for the fibres of the wood to break.
  23. I've not used them for chip body but I know Overland in Basingstoke are very good, though quite pricey Pete. I don't think they will have a problem with type approval because they do a lot of body's for SSE on their new Landy's.
