  1. I'm not a fan of general grabbers. I found that you do not get many miles out of them and they are not particularly good off road. I have found BFG tyres to be very good. Although they are not cheap to buy, you do get a lot of miles out of them (far far more than the grabbers), which makes them cheaper in the long run. The AT's are nice on the road and not bad off road. The MT's aren't bad on the road and excellent off road. I would have thought you could get 4 for less than £500 + vat if you shop about.
  2. I love these ads and some of them do sell!!!
  3. Mr Smith down the road earns £11,000 a week.
  4. Haha, maybe I should have put £30,000!!
  5. They are means tested, which is why pro footballers etc get much larger fines. And the point about it being unfair, I think in fact it makes it more fair because £100 to Mr Smith down the road, hits him equivently (I use that word very loosely) as £3000 would do to Gerard or whomever.
  6. I had an interview at the American Embassy in London to get mine, though that was nearly 20 years ago.
  7. You can hire that type of kit from Affordable Access, 01794 521177. They are based in Romsey.
  8. That looks really good Mark. That didn't seem to take you long.
  9. Really, my understanding was that it is the land owners responsibility not to allow their vegetation to encroach on the dno's network. Though in reality the power line company's maintain the clearance of the trees free of charge. I may well be incorrect but thought that is how it is.
  10. I didn't realise this was you mate. Yeah, still working around Newbury, pretty heavy primary, not been cut for some time!! Hows the surveying going? What area are you working?
  11. I don't think it has to be over 3.5t to be mot exempt, but I could be wrong.
  12. Would be interesting to see the drying rate on different diameter logs, because that changes the seasoning speed considerably. Looked through their website and they sell some really nice outdoor stoves.
  13. and your overtime rate is less than your day rate.
  14. I do not know if it is suitable or not. I used to end for end splice 3 strand for my prussic loops.
  15. Seems to be a bit of a mixed view on them. Customer service does not sound ideal, see how it goes tomorrow when I call them. Not looking to scrimp, just save money. Patent or copy parts can be worse, as good and sometimes better than genuine. Cheers jon, not used it yet but you can see it is a nice piece of steel mate.
  16. Your getting about a bit!! If you can't find anywhere, look on your map for nearby golf courses etc, but you know all that. Good luck mate
  17. Has anyone tried Saturn blades in their chipper? I bought a set for my 220mx and after a few weeks have noticed one of them has a small crack and is slightly misshapen (bent). I'm sure this has been caused by a manufacture error and wanted to see if anyone else has had any problems with these make of knives.
  18. Cut a face and then sit that flat on a block and run saw through. Could you hire a splitter for the day?
