  1. True. Just trying to make an example, perhaps not the best one!!
  2. Mewps can take alot of hard work out of certain jobs like chogging down a large butt on yer spikes with a 70cc saw hanging off yer belt or a 10% crown reduction when you have to get right out there, moreover you can make the exact prune cut you want and not go for 2nd best cos you cant quite reach. I think it will make your life alot easier gray git and speed up alot of jobs.
  3. Thats good as i'm getting a log burner/stove installed soon. And not feel guilty if i mix a small amount into my firewood sales!!
  4. I have read over the years of folk on here rating leyland c as firewood. Is this the same for most cypress' such as lawson etc?
  5. Chipper top trumps would be awesome!!
  6. Whats max height and outreach graygit? Nice looking truck mate.
  7. I don't think its worth selling a saw. For what you will get for it, its better sat there even for back up.
  8. I've had loads of haix boots over the years and have found them all to be very comfy and durable. Always from the gore tex range. However, The last few pairs, after 12 months or so, have found that the tongue wears and fills with fine saw dust cramping your toes until they become unwearable. you can cut the tongue and hook the dust out, but is a pain and takes time. Apart from that and overall, a very good quality and comfy boot from the first time you put them on. For the last 2 years I have been wearing meindle air streams, very comfortable, similar in feel to the haix. They are still in pretty good condition (I wear them every day at work) and can see them lasting perhaps another 12 months. The only problem I have found is that the winter before last I suffered from cold feet (I have never had this before). Not a problem last winter but then it rarely got below freezing.
  9. Yes. I hate the thought of kids growing up too quickly. There should be wonder out there, not all the answers.
  10. If you charge for delivery on top, would the delivery be charged at 20% or 5%?
  11. Just out of interest, would the root growth rate slow or even stop if the tree was annually pruned?
  12. You can give Darren Taylor from stumpbusters a call. He covers that area and is very competitive. He is a nice bloke and quotes are of course free. His number is 07973 120596 Sent from my SM-G900F using Arbtalk mobile app
  13. Once the fuel ones knacked I change it for the oil spout and use a stopper lid. Lasts forever then though you cant just turn upside down and push but have to pour carefully.
  14. Has your RB a winch? If so, I would have thought it would pull that over. If not, a decent size tirfor and a few wedges. Pictures can be deceiving though.
  15. Can you not reach over to it from field with a hiab or similar. Difficult to tell distance from picture.
  16. You guys have got some kit. Fair play to you.
  17. Thanks Nepia, Redmoosefaction and Fredward.
  18. The problem I have is that the client has recently bought the house. The previous occupant was a very elderly gentleman and had let the garden trees and vegetation get out of hand, not maintaining it in anyway whatsoever before sadly passing away. It is obvious that the trees, shrubs etc had been at some time well looked after. The mimosa is situated very close to the house near French windows and patio/entertaining area encroaching both. The tree stands approx. 12' high and about the same broad so takes up a fair amount of space for a relatively small area of the garden. The customer wants it reduced to about 4' high and cut right back in with little growth to take it to. I am a little apprehensive to do this. Do you think this would kill it or do you think it would bush up to what will essentially be a low pollard?
  19. Done a search through the threads on here and none of them answer my queries, can anyone help please?
  20. I do apologise, that should have read 'gent and gentess''
  21. Evening gents. Is now an ok time of year to prune a mimosa and is it ok to hit it hard as customer would like? It is located on Poole harbour on sandy soil and I think though can't be sure that the soil is slightly acidic if these factors help determine outcome. Thanks in advance.
  22. I didn't realise you could score the pot and piston in this way. Glad i now know. Sent from my SM-G900F using Arbtalk mobile app
  23. I used to use engine oil as chain oil until about 10 yrs ago. Then realised if you buy 25l or more at a time, chain oil is just as cheap. Sent from my SM-G900F using Arbtalk mobile app
  24. No, not me who done the tree work. He used to play quite a few gigs round this way. Not seen him for ages, is he still performing?
