What are the lug winches, has anyone any photos? What sort of pulling force have they? I think tirfor winches are superb for the right job. Not bad for pulling your motor out if you get stuck.

Generally speaking, wood that is good for firewood is good for charcoal. We have not had great success with chestnut though.

Top work James. Getting better and better with the crane work. If I could get that price for a crane round here I would use one more often. Last time was best part of £800.

you will do well to get a ton of wood in there! That's a fair amount of log sales you are doing by the way. Are you doing that full time, with a processor?

Ah is this on ground only? in that case 550 or 560, probably 560 cos is just bloody awesome. 254 was a good shout though, could be tempted.

About 20 years ago I was part of a team that pruned the street trees in Bournemouth. From several days before we would leave No Parking Cones out. People would still leave their cars there. We would move them by several of us lifting the back ends and wheeling them out the way. Sometimes left them on double yellows! -

We call them 'granny logs'. Currently I don't charge any extra, but I will do soon. They take longer to process, there is more waste and there are less air gaps meaning they get more logs for their money. Basically they are a bloody pita!!

No word of a lie, my mrs went to school with 2 lads (amongst others), 1 called Andrew Ness and the other Peter Ness, i.e. A Ness & P Ness!!

I have put string/rope around both so can be used 1 handed. Not ideal but works.
