  1. I think stihl pro saws have a white top to the rear handle, could be wrong, wont be the first time:biggrin:
  2. I would say yes, live and not insulated. Contact power supplier I would guess they would turn that off at no cost, as it would be in their interest, to save a call out, at a later date.
  3. That's correct Jon
  4. A suitable operating centre? A crane operators card, or certificate, A loler test on crane, older cranes every 6 months now, so I've been told. A professional CPC, not the drives one if operating for hire and reward.
  5. Just going back to the `black mark` points a few post back, the DVSA use a points and colour coding system, to use as a guide when choosing which vehicles to stop. They call it OCRS operator compliance risk score. Vehicle operators are given a score based on mot test results, and roadside checks. A score of 0 is coloured green, going to red for scores over 26/31. In an ideal work if you have a green score you show be less likely to be stopped than having a red score. https://www.gov.uk/use-the-operator-compliance-risk-score-ocrs-system

    My accident

    Best wishes in your recovery.
  7. Hope you had a good day Paul
  8. Make sure the front diff sounds sweet, I know of one that needed the diff rebuilding after a contractor used it to load himself, spreading muck, and was a bit heavy handed shuttling back and forwards. The parts where quite expensive and had to be ordered in, not on the shelf. The other thing, but applys to all machines is see if its had a squirt of grease around it, especially the head stock. Over all a powerful machine, and quite good build quality, maybe a touch heavy if your planning on going across peoples lawns.
  9. Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery,
  10. I have a pair of Francital trousers, in orange and they've got GO-RT class on them.
  11. My 3.2 ranger, with MT tyres, shows 26.7mpg at the minute (on the dash) been a mix of short runs, less than 10miles, and a bit of towing. On the rare occasion I go further away and get a decent run 30-32mpg. A couple of times I`ve worked out the fuel its not been far off the dash. The MT tyres have made the most difference on longer runs.
  12. I use petzl am`d ball lock ovals, a real snug fit in the rubber part of zigzag2, I would think they would be unlikely to turn and cross load.
  13. Craig.

    I am back

Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.
  14. If your machine has not got pedals on the tracking leavers, if you have the blade in front of you can push the leavers at the bottom with you feet.
  15. To reduce damage when turning, put the bucket down slightly in the direction you want to turn and lift the machine slightly, then slew in the opposite way you want to turn, while operating the track needed to turn the desired way. Easier to show than write down, but it will help you turn without hardly leaving a mark, depending how far you want to turn/travel doing this you may need to power the other track slightly to stop it sliding and pull the dipper in and the boom up, or down depending on the angle of the dipper to stop the bucket skidding on the ground making a mess, and keeping the front of the tracks off the ground.
  16. I know what your saying about the difference between the japa and hp, some one I know has the japa, and I found it more of a pain picking the cut logs with my left hand, to the splitter. I`m right handed as well, I guess its down to personal choice. Swinny, try both types if you can, see what you prefer.
  17. I`ve got a hp eagle, off the top of my head was about 1650 new + vat. Works well for me and is good when using it on wood that is not dead straight (arb waste) as you can do a couple of cuts then turn the length to get an other couple of logs, and so on.
  18. There usually 4 speed.
  19. On the plus side, at least they haven't chucked it out of the window some where.
  20. I`ve looked at a job, in a private woodland and the owners are concerned about making too much disturbance for want of a better word. Most of the rides through it only suitable for compact tractor/quad, taking bigger tackle along them will involve a fair bit of work with digger in places, and generally making a bit of a `disturbance` which the owners want to avoid. So I was thinking about a compact trailer. Does anyone know of firms that hire such trailers? If no one hires them, would there be much interest from others, in hiring one? North wales/north west area. Thanks in advance.
  21. Hi, there is one on ebay, Opico loader skidsteer power pack kanga | eBay I do know the bloke selling it, he`s upgrading to a slightly bigger boxer. Don't know much about the machine sorry, only see him using it up and down.
  22. Has it got a vosa/dvsa plating certificate now? If so what does it state as the design weight?
  23. Thanks, I`ll give them a bell, had a quick look on their site before starting this thread but did not spot it, quite possible I missed it.
  24. Just looked back in Wayne, Take it you cant get blue tongue by the metre then:laugh1: Got a couple of options to look at, Cheers all:thumbup:
  25. I`m after a short rope, about 20 - 25m, and after the glowing recommendations for blue tongue with zig zag, I though I would give it a try. Does any body know if it is sold in shorter lengths, or by the metre? I`ve got a recent `long` rope a tachyon, so don't really want an other long rope to cut down, my other old rope is 13mm, but the zig zag works so much better with the smaller diameter. Thanks in advance.
