  1. The dash problem appeared to be little know as fords warranty specialist come to have a look at it. Problems I've heard people talk about like the high gearing, and like, seem to have been addressed.
  2. I`ve got a 13 plate ranger, with the 5 cylinder 3.2 engine, been pleased with it. I did have a problem with it during last winter, when the outside temp was low the dash would flash on and off, fixed under warranty, dealer gave a courtesy vehicle while sorting it. A good ride and drives nice even on the rough roads around here, an easy drive on motorways as well. Positively surprised with the off road performance on the road bias tyres.
  3. The way I read it is, no as the vehicle can be driven on a category b licence, the driver cpc is needed for categories c1, c1+e, c, and c+e.
  4. If you decide to carry on with your current mounting set up, and plan on using a engine power pack, try and mount the power pack at the very rear of the trailer, underneath? to try and counter balance some of the weight of the crane on the nose weight.
  5. That yanmar looks to me to have 4 quick couplings 2 for breaker lines, may be with a valve to make them two way, and 2 going to bucket crowd ram, if this is the case it would be easy to put grab/rotator on it.
  6. You would need minimum of a C1 licence for over 3.5t. Your best bet on the diabetic front is speak to your doctor, they will need to complete a medical form for you to apply for a licence. If your diet controlled I cant see a problem, if insulin dependent I think dvla have recently/or planning to alter their rules,(in your favour). I know people with diet controlled that have a lgv licence, I`m sure some one on here will put you right on insulin controlled.
  7. Most of the makes have hydraulic trailer brakes fitted, if they are agricultural spec. Done a lot of hours in a jcb 526 farm special, a strong, nippy machine and did most things you asked of it well, loaded trailer towing wasn't one of them, sluggish on the road if you came up any sort of hill, the engine wouldn't die just the speed would drop off, changing down didn't really help other than keeping transmission oil temperature a bit better. Loaded trailers never feel to be a problem though, as in tail wagging the dog. Operated other makes and all much the same towing. If your not looking to tow all the time, and not over long distances up and down mountains, and keep on top of maintenance, especially transmission, should be OK.
  8. I think the cable for tirfors has a different construction to normal winch cable, having a more solid core.
  9. Chewing gum as temporary get you home fix on a radiator.
  10. Been thinking the same myself just recently, interested to seen what reply's you get.
  11. Craig.

    LEZ london

It`s £200 if you want to go in with a non LEZ truck, think yourself lucky at £100:001_tt2: Joking aside, paying your money wont make your vehicle more better on emissions, so as you say making money from the motorist again, or have your hand forced to change your vehicle, once most people have buckled in and changed vehicles to stop paying, they'll move the emission level again, and so it all starts again, (granted they tell you the dates in advance). How long before other cities/towns start this, for a quick cash boost, off the back of the environment?
  12. Thanks for that, looks like hankooks have moved up on the shortlist, and the kumho have gone off the list, don't fancy soiled underwear!
  13. When you say no comparison to the hankooks off road, where the hankooks better or worse than the kumhos? Been looking at the hankooks for my pickup myself, I run them on my lorry with no problem, and see them fitted on new bmw`s as well (car tyres).
  14. I think for memory, some Volvo? machines have quick release couplings on the crowd ram as you purpose to do. Does the machine have a quick hitch? if so could you not make a bracket for the hitch to pick up and have the rotator hanging off the bracket. Then fully extend the ram before undoing the quick release couplings, save having to make brackets to support the ram. I would put the rotate circuit on the bucket ram circuit, and the grab open/close on the breaker lines, a bit more control when turning a length of timber with the joy stick than your foot.
  15. If I`m thinking right the hitch difflock said about is the type with the pin through the centre of the ball, and a handle on the side you turn through 180 degrees to release the pin? JAW-E40TC-3500K-LES BOLTS-PL - Bradley I used to have this type on an old vehicle, and did put an agricultural type puh ring in it, the only problem I had with it was, if you didn't use the pin regular it would start to seize in, even with a bit of grease around it, the salt/water seamed to wash it out, got to say though I didn't have a cover on when not in use, one might of helped.
  16. I think heard on the news the other week a branch of McDonalds was trailing writing reg numbers on the wrappers to see if it improved the litter in their area.
  17. I`ve got the same one long hand one and its still good for me aswell. the Oregon ones are good if you need to carry it with you all day as they are nice and light.
  18. From my own experience, and than of others, the replacement body panels don't fit very well off most dealers. I`ve used agriline for some engine parts as well, and seemed OK. Also had parts from emmark8888, helpful staff and large range.
  19. Sounds OK, my shell card off them, works out with the vat 131.38, and my Texaco fast fuel card off infuels, 130.83, not had my other prices in yet.
  20. When they are trying to sell you any fuel card they tell you what the price per litre is, and was last week, and usually sounds a brilliant price as you say saving 4-5p, then when you get the card the price is no where near the mark. I had one card sounded a good deal when they where getting me to sign up to them once I got the card I never drew any fuel on I because it was 3-5ppl more than my other fuel cards. Also just check as some cards charge if you don't use them. Fuel card services? their the ones in Burnley? If they are I`ve got a shell card off them, they seem OK.
  21. Top service again from skyland . Spoke to barry yesterday about the pre order I had with them, he said I had missed the courier but he would drop the parcel off in fedex on the way home, received parcel this afternoon. Thanks Barry & Mark
  22. One thing to check out, perhaps gardenkit can help out again, is where it can be used under load for engine braking, I seem to remember on case tractor 4240 the manual said some thing along those lines, as it would cause premature wear.
  23. Most landings I`ve seen tend to just use what ever hard core they can get hold of locally, more often than not shale from a farm hole/quarry, not normally any drainage in there, just perhaps a camber to run surface water off. If possible and your extracting a large amount of timber try and set up a one way system, to stop trailers ripping up the surface while turning around.
  24. There is a bloke I know in the same village(Denbighshire) as me has got a big static band saw, Are you a miller, or want some doing?
  25. Only just read this thread that thinking as some one else said, it was going to be give up drinking, fags, type of stuff. That's devastating news, stay strong for yourself and your family, I hope you can take some comfort from the fact there is a lot of people wishing you well and in their thoughts. Best wishes, and fingers crossed you get some better news soon.
