  1. Craig.

    Tyres

A local firm I know uses them or local franchise of them, and he`s happy with them the guy comes to his yard late afternoon/early evening when his vans are back in.
  2. Good post Treewolf, thats the way I see it as well. Point 5, No one wants to stick their neck on the line and say so and so is compentent to do the task, so use tickets to prove and cover their back. People take it as law you need licence or ticket xyz to do a job. The only ticket I`m aware of you personally legally needing is a driving licence. As said in other posts experience would win hands down, but with the way of things now,no win no fee, claims against you etc, you need the bit of paper. We Should use it to our advantage when selling our service, xx years experience and qualified. Qualification to buy top handle, turn up at customers to do job they said looking at your topper, "they look handy i tryed to buy one but the dealer said you need to be qualified to buy that", must look good on you.
  3. Edit, a link has been made by itself, like magic:thumbup1:
  4. I use cargo stop for my load restraint stuff. CargoStop - Home can`t see how to put a link in sorry just got boxes with red crosses in.
  5. You should make manual record of mondays work as other work, It wont effect weekly rest, you`ll get over 45hrs on the saturday/sunday off. As for telling company your driving for, they want to know or should do for working out your 48hr week average for wtd.
  6. What about using a old commercial drawbar trailer, they can be picked up for similar money to a ifor williams, then you could use the air brakes. Use the air suspension to drop the trailer and with ramps to get a decent loading angle, may be put sockets in deck for bolsters, so more use?
  7. I`ve heard with other agricultural kit like potato harvesters with hydraulic drive, that the speed is limited to 30kph to stop damage to hub motors, some thing to think of if you do a lot of road work, cage drive wont have that problem once it`s dis-engaged.
  8. Just reading cheshire farmart, Caldo oils advertising 32 or 46 hydraulic oil 229.60+vat for 205 litre. Their in st helen`s I think, dont know wether they send out or not. 01744813535
  9. Just reading the 201t thread, when you go to 2nd page it comes up with a white backgroung, different heading, and home, forum faq, and so on in a list going down. Not seen it like that before, and tryed a couple of times to see if it`s still the same.
  10. That holder was on a couple of weeks back at £8500. It does not look to bad, I quite like it:thumbup: No more toys for me at minute though:thumbdown:
  11. It should fit OK, 4 bolts under bell housing, then a brace going to under front axle pivot, again 4 bolts, or maybe a brace going to back axle wing mounting points, this type is a pain as you have to climb over the tubes to get on and off. You will need to change the small cover under front of seat and to the right for one with a tapping in it to take hydraulic feed from, and a valve to close off loader if its working off rear linkage lever.
  12. You would need a c1 licence, or c1+e for loaded and trailer, you might have c1 with grand father rights depending when you passed you driving test, c1+e grandfather licence limited to 8250kgs. If you going to pay out for c1+e licence your just as well doing c+e. You would need an operators licence as gvw is over 3500kgs.
  13. From memory your local council will be informed of you application as a statutory objector, but again I think not 100% though that you dont need planning if 2 or less vehicles on licence, but they can still object on any other gounds they feel like.
  14. Paul, VOSA web site, or call them up I`ve aways found them help full on phone. You`ll still to apply for the licence, news paper ad, some where you propose to operate from, proof of financial standing, exmaples of inpection sheets, and so on even though its a restricted licence.
  15. Your not restricted on mileage on a restricted O licence, you could go international if you wanted. No operators cpc needed, drivers cpc not likely for arb work. Doing your own inspections and maintanence OK if you have the skills and equipment to do so.
  16. JCB 520-50, well proven running gear same as 2cx, and airmaster, 4speed and shuttle, manual hydraulics a joystick and aux lever, only electric control is the park brake. The 520-40 are hydrostatic so as you say a bit revvy.
  17. I see you`ve crossed pulsarail off your list, for any one else thinking of one, mine leaked from day one, very tight knitted cuffs, then the kip broke. It was a yellow one with red stripes for trunk road work, dont know if the orange ones are any better? Wont buy an other one.
  18. travel lodge for us as well, booked 5-6 weeks ago and it was quite full then.
  19. 600mm signs can only be used on single carriageway`s 30mph or less, 750mm signs on all other speeds of single carriageway, and dual carriageway up to 40mph, 50mph and over, 1200mm signs. Not sure of suppiler in yorkshire, you could try manchester safety (i think thats what they are called), over here, north wales we use brookes tarpaulins, in penmaenmawr, dont know wether they would parcel them.
  20. I`m not liverpool based, but north wales so about a hour away. 20TM crane on flatbed/plant wagon not sure if it`s what you want but I`ll pm you my number.
  21. Should be OK as long as the trailer is sensible for the tractor, 2wd will make it handy in a tight spot.
  22. Dual power is like a splitter gear, you can change up or down on the move with no clutch, if it slips when you change it could mean hydraulic problems or worn clutch packs in the dual power unit. The operating switch could be on the floor a small round peddle between clutch and brake, or some times moved and Retro fitted to gear stick as a flick switch, don't think 7700' s had them on the dash like other models but could be wrong
  23. As above but check for water in the oil, may have famous ford porous block, replacement blocks are starting to get a bit scarce. If it's got dual power check its sharp ish to change as well.
  24. Vapormatic paint is quite good, and comes in most common tractor and implement colours, and a good colour match from one batch to the next so good if you want to touch up at a later date, dont know who online but plenty of stockists, so one must sell on line! Not sure what type of paint it is, possable synthetic enamal, I used synthetic thinners and went on nice. Sprays and brushes on.
  25. When I renewed my waste carriers licence a couple of months ago there was some thing on the reminder letter that came, about some changes, that arb waste and garden green waste would`nt need a carriers licence, if I remember right. I`ll try and dig it out later to look again. Dont know if that was just carrying waste, or if you charge to remove it (directly).
