  1. I think I`ve read/heard somewhere that this is the last hard copy one they are going to do, anyone else heard?
  2. A shipping container will get bad condensation with the doors shut, an extra pitched roof giving an air space, will cure the condensation problem.
  3. The pressure relief valve is usually on the valve block. How big is the pipe that keeps blowing? Assuming the pressure was set OK, and it a biggish pipe, may be someone's replaced it on the cheap in the past with a 1 or 2 wire hose, and it should of been multi spiral/wire hose, and the following replacement hoses have been made the same (wrong type)?
  4. thanks, pretty much thinking of same use myself, I`ve recently had some tools with 5ah batteries, got me thinking about the saw.
  5. Did you get the one that uses 2 x 18v batteries in a convention saw style? I`ve thought of getting one as we use a lot of their 18v stuff so have lots of batteries. I`ve tried a Makita with one battery, in the style of a top handle,, wasn't overly impressed with it.

    Massive fly

    What`s that one called Mick?
  8. Had a good look through my books here, and only got the operators manual and parts book for the white cab 3cx, no workshop manual unfortunately, other than for a 4.98 engine. The parts book wont be much help I don't think, showing the master cylinder in one picture, and the pedal box in an other.
  9. I`m sure I`ve got a workshop manual, or at least parts book for a white cab 3cx some where, I think they where the same type of dash set up, I`ll see if I can find it.
  10. Can`t help with removing the master cylinders, but I seen to recall that they don't use normal brake fluid.
  11. Some one has all ready been there sort of, not on a mini but similar idea to above, priestman vc long reach machines half drag line half excavator, so its possible in principle.
  12. "When combined the new vehicle created is over 3500kg. But they exempt trailers under about 1000kg kerb weight . that rules most out any way" Sorry for the confusion, I read what you wrote as most trailers would be ruled out of the exemption, implying his trailer and most others where over the 1020kg unladen weight. Reading it again and knowing now we are both talking about the same thing to me it now reads, that rules most out of operators licencing any way.
  13. It would still depend on use.
  14. He said his trailer is 810kgs unladen Motor vehicles and trailers You’ll need a goods vehicle operator’s licence for a motor vehicle and trailer combination if: the motor vehicle and the trailer(s) are plated and the total of their gross plated weights is more than 3,500 kg the total unladen weight of the vehicle and trailer combination is more than 1,525 kg You don’t need an operator’s licence if your trailer’s unladen weight is less than 1,020 kg and you only carry your own goods. From the gov.uk link
  15. He said he`s got a B+E licence, so it`s OK for up to 3500kgs vehicle & 3500kgs trailer. If he only had a B licence it would be up to 3500kgs combined vehicle and trailer weight. The hilux is under 3500kgs gross so no O licence for that. The trailer is 3500kgs so no O licence, depending on use (own goods, or hire and reward). https://www.gov.uk/being-a-goods-vehicle-operator Tachograph depending on use and distance from base. If you work for the company, it`s their responsibility to sort the o licence not the drivers.
  16. If your thinking of a loader as well, the same will be a lot more manoeuvrable than the massey, (steering lock).
  17. Basically to let locals know you want to operate goods vehicles from the premises, and give them a chance to object or rise issues about your application.

  19. I remember reading about a few months back in a dvsa news letter, saying it would apply for non agricultural use, then it went on to say about the numbers it expected to be tested, and it was quite small, 200 - 300 if I remember right. With that small number I`m guessing its agricultural machines, that are taxed/registered for commercial use.
  20. I`ve got a 1/2" drive Makita 18v, had it quite a few years with no problem. The 1/2" air wrench hardly ever comes out now, the cordless with a well charged battery is similar in performance. The newer brushless ones are a higher maximum tightening torque, and that's what I`ll buy as a replacement if needed. All my other cordless stuff is 18v Makita, so that plays a big part all using the same batteries.
  21. While I don't doubt the tri axle would travel soft ground better, some of the 3 axle trailers I`ve seen use a smaller diameter wheel/tyre set up, bonus of lower deck height, but reduced ground clearance, could possibly be an issue in the woods?
  22. The 4x4 version may already have lower ratio diffs. Have you seen the vin plate on the van you`ve seen? If not you never know, you might be lucky! I would hazard a guess most 4x4`s would be a decent spec ordered.
  23. I believe on a 2 wheel drive sprinter, you need a lower ratio diff to get a 7000kg train weight, or that's what merc do if you order one. I`ve not used these people myself, http://www.svtech.co.uk/ but heard people who have for uprating etc, and seemed happy enough.
  24. If your just moving timber or other products for yourself, you would just need a restricted operators licence, moving timber for some one else, you would need a standard national o licence.
  25. Funnily enough on mine the abs and esp light came on the other day, after the hearing the abs modulator working while stationary a couple of minutes after starting, a 2013 3.2 limited.
