    Buy an echo!!

Not sure bout that, although they do look very similar, if so its a very big plus point - anyone know for defo? N
  2. Utter garbage, only speaking to someone yesterday who said the same. My fuel cap is OK ish, because it got replaced with an 'improved' one when it broke, but these things take time when they shouldnt, ensure that muck ends up in the oil tank or worse, you think they're in and there not so your fuel or oil ends up on the ground & all down your leg. Epic design fail attempting to fix a problem that diddnt exist. In contrast the Husqvarna flip ones work much better & the screw in ones perfect. N

So thats a Dolmar 420, an Echo 620sx & a Husky 390 on my wish list, not sure how I will ever sneak them past 'finance' & Devil's clutches all round! N

    Buy an echo!!

Oh yes, even if it weighed a milligram heavier than a 550 it will be condemed for eternity in the ST hall of shame for lardy arsed saws... But heaven forbid if it should bear the sign of satan in the form of an inboard clutch! Sounds like a bloody brilliant mid range saw to me, wouldnt be surprised if it cuts like my 365 which is 70cc (also with inboard clutch & a lot heavier than a 550 but cuts great) N

Agreed, £2000 for 30 mins of bad work, thats theft. Also the behaviour of their motley crew was abysmal - hope they get stitched big time. N

    Vox ac 30 c2 ,.

Hi I think the AC30 was the defacto amp of its time & has never really been equalled, theres something about valve amplifiers that is difficult to define until you listen to them. This chap may be able to help Musical Instrument Shop, Instrument Repairs, Sherborne N
  14. Hi Jonsie Mais oui pour les deux N
  15. Hi Ty, They look good but as you say pricey N
  16. Thanks, But that website has to be one of the worst Ive seen for a while, heaps of images, flash taking ages to load via our normally fast broadband, slightly naughty cross site scripting blocked by no script - I wont go on! We'll persevere & try again but eventually gave up, perhaps Im too old. N
  17. Hi all, Anyone know where I can get a decent pair of hardwearing ladies work trousers (dont need to be chainsaw type) preferably with re-inforced / double knees for Mrs NFG please? Many thanks in advance. N
  18. Hi We have a Rayburn which heats our hot water in a thermal store & part of our house, intention is to put a radiator into living room next summer which is going to be a bit of a heave but worth it. As per most Rayburns it has a rectangular hot plate for two pans, an oven & a plate warmer below that Ours is a 612m so quite old, the firebox is a little small but takes about 34cm max but manage to keep it in overnight - we use about 8 stere a winter but its not as cold here. Must admit, its tops. N
  19. Hi, We did a similar trip in 2006 had an amazing time, too much to mention here. Hope all your flights go well & have a great holiday N
  20. Hi all, This year everything been a great succes, including: 25Kg of grapes from 2 vines - turned into Pineau & barrel aging 30+ butternut squash & Citroi - type of squash probably 200Kg spuds - still got 5 rows to go leeks, carrots, Jerusalem artichokes, peas, beans, navet peppers, chilli, aubergiene, onions red & shalots, Tomatoes, cherry toms, raddishes, rhubarb, rasberries some pics below N
  21. Hi As per Stubby - the 390 has inboard clutch whilst 395 outboard more desirable for milling (mentioned just in case ST is watching ) AFAIK they both port well, the 395 carb is slighty limiting. 390 supplied as .058 gauge whilst 395 is .063 - is that right Stubby? somewhat envious you have both! N
  22. Hi 135 good saw to start off with, 40cc engine as well. Remember that PPE is there to make an accident 'less bad' - it's no substitute for good practise but I trust you will gain that with training & experience. Theres plenty of good and bad stuff on the 'tube as well. I would avoid starting with fallen trees (stated in starting post) - they can be dangerous as the forces are hidden until cut. N
  23. Hi Clearly, the 241, 261 or 550xp are a significant step up in cost from a 230. There are a few fairly robust saws available for a bit less or a bit bigger for same ish money. Search the forum you should find several threads covering the following: Dolmar 420 - 42cc Makita 5121 - 50cc Echo 550 - 54cc Local dealer support may influence eventual decision as its handy for nearby backup. Heart attack

Good red, my definition which of course is personal & formed over many years - yours will be very different, but briefly: 1. Generally - 70% Merlot 20% Cab Sav - reminder Cab Franc / Petit Verdot 2. Generally around 8-20 euros when purchased en primeur from one of our favourite chateaux - Cissac, Pierrail, St Emillion GCC, perhaps second growth of Margaux - Sirene de Giscours, Pessac Leognan. 3. Yes, prefably a 75cl bottle this is important, I had a very extensive discussion about the 75 / 70 thing with my neighbours & all agreed its not right. 4. Or anything where we have visited and drunk excellent wine - Jouvent, Cote de Rhone Villages, Lirac, Vissan, Gigondas, Vaquayras, Bourgoyne, Burgundy, theres lots of them & I could bore you to death! If you love Aussie or USA wines then Im sure there are equivalents, but we dont really see them for sale here. However, most of the time we drink Merlot from a fountain (box) or our good friends wine which is Pinot Noir and not bad Bon Sante N
  25. Agreed, but think you'll find vintage Krug, Veuve Clicquot or Laurent Perrier more like it! N
