  1. Are you using a file guide/plate ? This will hold the file 1/5th of its diameter above the top plate of the cutter which is were it is supposed to be . Some people can do it " free hand " but if not use an Oregon guide or similar ......Edit . Having just watched the vid it seems to be " 4 stroking at about half revs which might be too rich ? Also apart from running shit the chain seems to be bouncing off the depth gauges . You need to take them down every 3rd or 4th sharpen .. Also chain looks to be too tight ...
  2. Imagine that on a pod on your leg ! ?
  3. I cant . tears are running down my face . ?
  4. I believe Spud has ported a prototype .........
  5. Remember waking up and thinking I was on a different planet . The sky line had changed completely . It seems something good can be taken from something bad ( the soil compaction realization ) .
  6. And ports well . Rocking horse shit now though . France possibly .....

Don't scrap the pot if it only slightly damaged . Most of it will be aluminum transfer and can be removed with brick acid or similar . Get a Metier piston and rings . BUT find out why it nipped up in the first instance . If it was bad fuel ok , if it was an air leak get that sorted first or it will happen again . Best option send it to Spud for a rebuild and a port job ! money well spent .
  8. By all accounts the MK2 550 is a significant step froward over the MK1 . If Jonsie has the Mk2 on offer I would not hesitate .
  9. I have tried the " upside down " fire and found it to be no different than the conventional method . Both work well . As I understand it there is supposed to be less smoke on start up with the upside down method .
  10. I would have thought the only safe way would be to get a tree spade in . I know its not huge but it is established and digging and maneuvering a tree like that may stress it and it could fail in its new spot . A tree spade will keep a fair bit of the ground it is in currently and wont shock the roots . Obviously the new hole needs digging first with enough room to take the lump that will be on the the tree .
  11. The main router is a Sky fiber one . Then I have a connection from the router to the house wiring . This lets the signal travel through the house wiring and a booster plugged in to any socket in room will take that signal and dish it out were ever its needed .
  12. If you can't salvage the pot ( which most times you can ) then if you are going to rebuild it you might as well go 372 . A 372xp ( not the newer Xtorque ) will drop strait on but really you will need the 372 carb as well .
  13. But do the fuckwits use the bin or do you still have to collect it and place it in said bin ?
  14. So sorry Kev . It never gets any easier . Be glad of the wonderful life you gave her .
  15. Very hard to loose the ID tag under normal working conditions as it is under the top handle on the RH side near the AV mount in that location .
  16. If you are a loyal customer I know they do the best that they can for you . Many a time I have been in there to buy some bits and bobs and asked if they could do a " quick fix " type job and its done for free .
  17. Yep I have a couple of trugs to bring from the log store and a rectangular wicker basket next to the stove . Trugs are cheap enough from the horsey stores .
  18. Dave Moon ( as it was ) Chainsaws are the billiebollox .
  19. Plastic trug . Same here Ratty only mine is green .
  20. This all day long . ?
  21. I was felling dead Elms on the headland of a field in a village near me . Dead Elms were covered in ivy ( like they are ) Mrs Fuckingtontwattface came out and said I was willfully " chopping " down perfectly good trees and the police will be here and arrest me . I smiled and said good morning to you . Carried on until job was finished . Never saw plod or any one to be fair . Some toss pots just can't help them selves .
