  1. There is an ash in hampstead village with the most amazing hispidus brackets on it!! My phone gets upgraded today so will have a camera at last!!! expect some pics later!!
  2. I dont see the point in it really, the TM is light enough anyway. When i went to buy my my 2013 TM a few months ago the shop said they hadnt sold any!!
  3. i use a falteimer cube, harrison rockets and dynaglide. Dynaglide is good for hand throwing but only comes in 45m and its starting to look fluffy after only a few months, if i was gonna get another line it would be the petzl airline as its stiff, lightwieght, comes in 60m and looks like it would have less friction on the bark.
  4. we use some isc swing cheek ones they are a lot bigger than a pinto rig but you can get then in either 50 or 70kn. cheap and durable!!!
  5. I have tried all ropes and tachyon (the new england one) wins hands down. for retrieving a pulley saver use a double snapper, essential if you work over hard surfaces!
  6. you could be right there, ive heard conflicting reviews from people that used a test saw. I just pray its better than the 201.
  7. Looks like its hit the shelves, honey bros have limited stock Shame i aint got the funds at the mo
  8. seconded. although i have destroyed a pair in one (long and extreme) climb.
  9. I prefer tachyon all day long, tried lots of other ropes and none come close imo
  10. any geckos but make sure you get them fitted with the leather bottom strap,i found the velcro bottoms came loose.
  11. good for people with small (dinosaur) arms!
  12. I never used to wear gloves but i do now as i use a thinner rope. The only gloves i get on with are the pfanner stretchfine, Very thin, grippy and dexterous . Bog standard grippy gloves from builders merchants etc are too thick imo.
  13. I have had many types but the missus still says i only looked sexy in the stihls!
  14. sounds like to need to stow your kit a bit more safely dude, our trucks are always rammed but i always seem to find a safe niche for the gear!
  15. heave wont be a problem. I have never seen or heard of it happening in my 10 yrs in arb.
  16. Is the chin strap avaliable for the previous model??? my gaffer was one of the first to buy one when they came out and was dissapointed when he found out he couldnt use it in the tree.
  17. dunno bout those but a guy i worked with the other day had the ones up from those and rated them...if thats any help.
  18. if you knew the guy i used to work with, you would understand:laugh1:
  19. I have seen a flip line withstand a 066, it was cut half way through but it saved the climber from a nasty fall. I know you can cut through them if you try hard enough but normal rope wouldnt of held up in this situation. So they get my vote when choggin'!

    Spiders

Graham is right. Its not a false widow, they are shiney yours is velvety.
  21. No other fungi was present. These are situated in a private square garden Nr Marble Arch. We had cleaned them out a year ago. There was evidence that the massaria had spread from the wounds from sub laterals we had removed a year earlier and was killing off the main lateral...if you get what i mean.
  22. Found lots more on 4 x 35m trees. Each had at least one 6in dia limb that had to be removed.
  23. Would be nice to have a member of the fairer sex on our firm. The place is a sausage fest!
  24. Looks like im gonna go for it this year at merrist wood. There goes my social life!
  25. Just make sure there is at least meter or two of rope below (you will do a lot more pulling your rope through) and pull the rope into the device.
