  1. Stihl ms 180. Or stihl ms 181. Or the little husqvarna saws look alright although i have never used one myself.
  2. I have used the full size oregon bench grinders on really knackered chains but even then always preferred hand filing. After a nightmare job the other week with a stem full of nails and metalwork i am going to give something a bit more mechanical a try. I always take a little knock in vice when out on site which are great to get a job done but can be a bit of a faff. I have seen a few with these little 12v grinders, i always looked at them as a bit of a diy tool rather than something a pro would use however, now im starting to feel the strain a bit more im open to anything which makes the job easier. Think ill buy a bench grinder for really bad chains at home and a 12v for the pick up. How long do the stones last on the little grinders?
  3. Anyone got one of the oregon mini bench grinders? They are around £200 If so what do you think of it?
  4. Without sticking to a budget what is the best chain grinder available? I realise buying the most expensive tools isnt always best.
  5. I found the fork formation quite interesting, though provoking and logical however, i think there is a difference between branch attachment and fork formation and im not sure that was explained very well or maybe i didnt grasp it so well. Overall im definitely glad i made the effort to go and i agree with Duncan that things move on and maybe now due to advances in technology we are able to improve on research that was done many years ago as in years to come we will progress further. Hopefully:001_huh: MM
  6. And i paid all that money
  7. I have a few logs you could carve if you can travel to, or collect?
  8. I share you sentiments mate. I have been in a few scrapes in my time and i like to think i have learnt as i have got older. Some of the worst fights i have been in have been sticking up for people i thought have been inocent or being picked on by some big bully. Unfortunatley Its often not the situation it seems at first. I have had first and second prizes, done the right thing and been in the wrong myself. Alcohol doesnt usually help anything, now i stay as clear of trouble as i can unless it is my close family involved. Id sooner face mcgregor in the cage than a pissed up mob on the street. Ufc may seem unnecessarily violent but there is less risks involved than drinking on the town at weekends imo.
  9. The fighters are willing participants, they know the risks. Some may see it as brutal however, these controlled bouts are nothing to the brutality the human race has exhibited over the last few hundred years. Its our nature to fight and kill each other, strongest survives. If people want to fight, let them. If people want to watch, let them. If you dont like it, dont do or watch it. We like to think we are more civilised and reasonable in this age but old Habits die hard. Personally i wouldnt dream inflicting violence like this on someone unless id been drinking stella and they tried pinching my taxi home.
  10. Cheers Mark.
  11. Great fight, at least people got their monies worth with this one. Glad mcgregor won, the cocky tw@t.
  12. Me too.
  13. anyone know where i can get a new cylinder and exhaust for a t540. They dont seem to be as readily available as other brands. Thanks M.
  14. Yes it comes with 'the people still in it!'
  15. If you need any spare bolts i have boxes and boxes of stuff i cant put back together!
  16. I have no experience of that machine however, i suspect its bolted together like most others. Inspect how its bolted together and start methodically unbolting it. Taking pictures of tricky looking parts before disassembling them can come in very useful. Sometimes workshop manuals can be found for some machines online or following a phone call to the dealer/parts dept. Dont panic, its all good fun.
  17. Hire one in until its fixed.
  18. I have used this process to clean, derust and etch the i side of motorbike fuel tanks before. You may not need to do the full process just the derust and etch. All the chemicals can be easily and cheaply obtained. Petrol Tank Cleaning and Rust Removal - Real Classic Motorcycle Techniques
  19. Do echo make pole pruners also? Are they good if so?
  20. boom beach
  21. Looks like some kind of alder maybe?
  22. I have broken two teng sockets! not with stupid force either. i was really disapointed because they wernt cheap and i thought they were good quality , now i got a bahco set which i think is better quality.
  23. Is the new engine a warrenty job?
  24. LOLER regulations contain significant elements of other Acts which all compliment each other. I.e PUWER, WAHR, PPE, MHSW.
  25. yes a basic requirement is that it has to be fit for purpose but there are other elements to it also.
