  2. Gary i know you have been involved in tree work for over 30 years but will you just stop trying to give people advice when they ask for help because you are are very confusing 🤣
  3. I have only ever worn bashlins so cant comment on anything else. I find them good enough not to think i need to try anything else. Im curious what the geckos are like tho as i hear plenty of people saying how good they are. Which ones do poeple prefer the ali or carbon ones? I may have a try at the next arb show.
  4. Peugeot partner and citroen berlingo are both very useful and economical vans.

  13. its not the fool who bids, its the fool who does the private bank transfer without having the machine
  14. Britt tip, warrington. Anything is possible.
  15. It certainly sounds like it does. Generally speaking, You cant make the tree owner have it inspected but they would be liable if they were made aware of it and chose to do nothing, which then resulted in a foreseeable failure which caused harm. Just because trees sometimes have cavities it isnt always a problem but they do need assessing by a competent person to determine that.
  16. Nothing wrong with having some pride in where you live and doing your bit. Empowering the community
  17. Its probably because if they gave you the go ahead they could be held responsible for your actions.
  18. And for what reason you were clearing them. If you just took it upon yourself to 'clear' someone elses tree for no other reason than taking it for your benefit without permission, i would say that is more or less theft. If a windblown tree were posing danger to a person, property or blocking your access i would think that is a reasonable reason for doing a certain amount of work (minimal) - if you were competent and informed the owner of your intensions however, im sure there would be insurance implications of some sort. I would advise you to tread carefully. Too many senarios to give a definative answer really.
  19. It depends who the trees belong to.
  20. A friend who hasnt got an AT account has asked me to post this up. Climber wanted for commercial and domestic work all around the northwest. Good rates of pay for the right person. Please ring for details. Jay 07875419736 Thanks
  21. Next year will be my final year to get it finished. I have attended Syston to do it. I have found it quite tough, mainly due to my own comitments but it is a great learning curve. There are lots of useful books which you will be shown and Dave and Andy and others are very knowlegable. Your tutor will be your main source of help, they are the ones you have to convince you know what your talking about. Overall an excellent qualification to do, you will make substantial gains in knowledge and confidence of certain subjects whatever your level. There is a few people on here who can help with any queries however, you will find that a lots of the answers require your own justifications, which isnt always straight forward but it does ensure you having a proper understanding of the subject before you can answer the question. Be warned its a lot of work! Im sure you will be fine. Gook luck. MM
  22. Its your decision but My advice would be not to have it. I have chronic tennis elbow. I was supposed to have it last week in my right elbow but i decided against it last minute. The injection can cause muscle wastage and although it may give you short term relief it will only mask the pain and you would carry on as normal until it returned/ wore off. So if your going to rest and change the way you do things that caused it in the first place then it could work or give you relief while you recover. However, if you are just going to carry on like i would, as though its an instant fix, its not advisable. My tendon has started to degenerate and form scar tissue so i will most likely end up having surgery to remove the tissue and have physio to build it back up. I have been told there are three treatment options dependant on how severe you injury is and how long you have had it. Physio, injections, surgery. Or you could do what i have done for years. Just ignore it and take pain killers and anti inflammatories, wear an arm clasp, crack on until its really really bad. If its not been damaged to badly for too long, rest will heal it. Easier said than done. Im not a medical expert so they are the ones you should direct your question to. But its my advice, from my experience.
  23. No not long straight trees, they are more of a woodland edge/ understorey shrub. Good berries for the birds and they have other uses. Can coppice them right down they will grow back. Or dig them up to remove for good
  24. Or brought it back from holiday in california?
  25. It was a hard one because im sure i had seen it before but i couldnt find it in any books. (Probably hadnt seen it before) I eventually found it on the internet searching the obscure leaf shape. Got there in the end. Good one
