Not used the oregon carving bars. They are probably ok though. Cannon and sugi ones are good. Def get a 1/4 pitch dime one. The advantage of the 3/8 ones is minimal compared to what you can achieve with a normal bar. 12 or 14inch is a good all rounder. Saw size wise i think ideally youd want a smaller saw, but you will be ok with a 231, you have to be careful not to wazz it on full throttle lots as with a bigger saw youll get alot more heat on the tip of the bar. Worth having a good read up on using a carving bar, re chain tension etc as they are fragile compared to normal bars -
Probably there is something posher. But i use a decent wetstone with 2 grits ( one either side) then a fine one with round and v bevels on for the knocking the burr off the inside of the chisel. Then a flexcut leather with gold crumbly stuff for finishing ( this also has various shaped bits for the inside of the chisels. Doing it by hand is slow, but harder to make a massive error!

This is a carving bar right? No nose sprocket. One came with my 2511. Its holding up well for carving

Have seen them for sale with a 10inch 1/4 echo carving bar. They available with a nose sprocket bar on 1/4 now?

Have a go at tuning that carb. Turn and a quarter on each should get it to run, check the idle screw as this could need some turns in

Have you tuned the carb? If its new it will need setting up. Many youtooob videos on this

I have been running my work car on aspen for the last few years, it adds about $130 onto my day rate, but no carb issues or head aches so has to be worth it. Plus i feel i may as well get my monies worth of the fuel tax hmrc charge.

I dont. I am and use subbies. For me I'm happy with ppe - i think thats smart enough , and shows you're a pro. I personally would give a hoot if electricians came to fix my house and their shirts didnt match. I would be judging it on the quality of their work and cut of their jib. Totally fine though if someone asked me to wear a t with their logo on, also would be fine with that. Each to there own.

Id pull the carb. Clean it, replace diaphrams etc. If still no good possibly its the fuel solenoid. Have revved the pants off it buried in some wood recently? Think this should get the autotune to recalibrate itself.

Pulled this out of a friends scrap pile. Possibly useful to someone. Coil Cylinder and piston appear ok Flywheel What you see is what you get. No promises, might be useful to someone. Collection or send me a label and ill wrap it up badly and post it.

If it has a primer this can help shift a vapour lock. If that is what it is.

What land cruiser is it? Quite a few models like. Personally id lean towards land cruiser, will take more abuse.

Before i got a chipper, i often did this, worth getting a rope or two under the whole lot, so you can roll it all off in a oner!

I wouldnt right off all of their saws as you had a lemon. Saying that must be annoying for you. But plenty folk have had bother with stihl and huskies 50/60cc saws too. What model went pop ian?
