  1. Only 3100kg towing capacity on the V6, which is mad.
  2. I recently looked at the new hilux. Is it just me who struggled to get in and out because of the steering wheel getting in the way of my knees Also the fact that if it's towing 3500kg the payload in the truck can only be around 300kg. New Isuzu is now only 1900cc instead of 2.5
  3. My Dad used to cut up meat for people on the bandsaw in his mill He said the only problem was the rats love the meat dust
  4. I had suffered with hayfever really badly since a child, and was getting worse year after year, and it just became bloody miserable and depressing in the end. All the drugs didn't work eventually. I ended up on the strongest stuff you can take for hayfever (can't remember the name of the stuff) I started getting breathing problems with it, so was sent to see the local asthma nurse, she got me to try something that has totally changed my life. As soon as you get in from work get straight in the bath or shower and put on all clean clothes, and all your clothes, towels and especially your bed sheets should be dried inside. I now take a spoon of local honey every day, and if things get worse (which is very rare) I have an homedics pollen filter and sometimes use haymax. Those few things have made such a huge difference, I haven't taken any drugs for 2 years now. I think the biggest thing was drying the bedsheets and clothes in the house, they act like a huge pollen filter when hanging on the line. Got to be worth a try.
  5. I will give them a try on monday, thanks.
  6. I have spoken to sandy lane, the place mentioned on here were a fair bit cheaper, but they are an option.
  7. I have decided I would like to get more privacy at my house and am looking to get enough laurel plants to do a total of about 200 metres. There was a similar thread last year where several suppliers were mentioned in a thread, but I can't find the thread . Thanks in advance
  8. Bloody good tow trucks One thing to be aware of is the belly pan on ours had sound proofing stuck to it, which does an excellent job of soaking up vast amounts of oil, found that out after my gearbox developed a serious leak and the first thing I knew about it was when the gearbox failed If I could find a really nice one I would snap it up.
  9. That's very impressive. Out of interest did you sand the boards down before gluing them together ? some pallet boards are very rough sawn.
  10. I built one several years ago because I couldn't buy what I wanted. The full height ones look hideous imo, they are far too high and make the truck unstable and they have too much overhang, I would hate to drive about with one on the back. Here is what I built, it had a solid pop up roof, drove really nice but far too small inside. The ones on dodge ram sized trucks look more stable as the truck is much bigger. Build pictures are here
  11. I can do it, was shown how to do it by a plumber friend who uses it a lot, it's a very handy thing to be able to do. I use a couple of gas welding rods bent at just under 90 degrees and sort of bend my wrists over slightly, if that makes sense, it helps the rods move easier.
  12. £20 a quarter, but that is for hosting on several sites, then domain name fee of £3.00 per domain per year.
  13. Have seen a few about, they now have 3 ton towing capacity which is a huge improvement on the earlier model. They used to be based on Merc running gear, not sure if that's still the case. If you take the price saving and write it off against the resale value I am not sure they work out cheaper in the long run though.
  14. I have been considering one of these for bag filling and mixing the soil we blend with compost prior to bagging, only thing that puts me off is when I tried an Avant it was hopeless at pushing into a heap. Perhaps it's time to get a demo on one.
  15. That's what we think is probably going to happen to it. That said I wonder if it's been stolen by an opportunist thief. It was a long way from home when it was stolen.
  16. Can I ask if people would mind keeping an eye out for someone I knows Land Cruiser LC79 single cab pickup with dropside body, it's the 6 cylinder factory turbo version. I have only just been told about it, it was stolen from Romford on Sunday 15th January in the afternoon/evening, Reg number was AC03 HCZ, I do have the chassis number if anyone should need it, and there are some bits that would give it away without the chassis number. The usual thing of the police can't be arsed to look into it, even though there are CCTV cameras everywhere. I would imagine this is long gone by now, I am gutted for the owner, but not as gutted as he is, this was a very nice truck that he brought back with him from Australia when he moved back here, I was hoping to own it in the near future. If anyone should see or be offered one of these could you call me please on 07860 408135. Many thanks
  17. We have just moved from 1&1 after they decided to double our hosting costs without informing us until 2 days after it was due for renewal. we went to EUKhosts who were very helpful and helped us move several sites, mail server and FTP accounts over the night we decided to join them. All the sites are still Wordpress.
  18. Fuel economy is one of the reasons I am not completely sure about the land cruiser, fuel economy on my 130 is really good at about 25mpg with the truck and trailer loaded, I have been told to expect around the 17mpg mark with the land cruiser.
  19. Looks like I may end up with a a Land cruiser pickup this year so the 130 300tdi with the galvanised chassis will probably go, I am doing more and more miles in it and I need more comfort.
  20. Was a very long time ago we used to run a 90hp 4wd balarus that ended up as a tow motor for pulling lorries off the field, it was a bloody nightmare to start and had a habit of blowing hydraulic pumps to pieces if we used a forklift on the back, had a keyway affair driving the rear wheel hubs that forever kept coming loose and it was terrifying driving it on the road, can't think of anything good to say about it except it could pull like a train for 90hp and had unbelievably good traction, that's why it got used as the tow tractor.
  21. Nice loader, was offered a very low hour one recently, was tempted but don't really have a use for them now.
  22. We have T&C's on the reverse of our invoices. And learnt from bad experience that you really must have them on your website
  23. I am wondering why the finance company isn't chasing this up with the dealer, you are paying for goods you haven't received and until it's paid for it's their asset. You are certainly a more patient man than me, whether they are the only dealer or not I wouldn't have given them nearly 18 months, sounds like they really do need a much tougher approach.
