  1. Tommer9 as a runner your shinsplints are mainly due to the calf muscles developing faster than the muscles in the front of the leg. Most people out grow this and over time it does not come back. Any number of things could have caused your pain in your shins including, not warming up and stretching well enough before your little trot, shoe selection or wearing shoes worn out, and you may also have one leg longer than the other!, which is more common than one might expect. When the latter is a possibility this can really throw out your entire upper torso which may account for your back issue as well. A Podiatrist could help better diagnose your issues and a running Podiatrist would be your best choice. easy-lift guy
  2. Mark, According to the ad I believe you can still work until your 18 and by than most people are burned out anyway. easy-lift guy
  3. Arbogrunt, Please say it isn't so!, I just read that yin's have ethanol mixed with your fuel stocks?. I can understand how Stupid the American public can be to allow it but you have it over your way too? easy-lift guy
  4. On this side of the pond, now that you mentioned it there are very few ethnic minorities in the business of Arboriculture. After attending and exhibiting in hundreds of shows at the regional, national and international level I can say they are very few or far in between, from an owner/operator stand point. From a groundie stand point there are legions of them, but I think most prefer to work from the ground usually much harder than they need to so as to not loose face amongst their peers, Sad but all so true! easy-lift guy
  5. Most larger dealers around these parts have a cooler with drinks for sale and sometimes a coffee machine. The coffee is nearly always free and if you get into the shop early enough a supply of donuts can be found but they have a habit of disappearing within the first hour of operation. If you have the space and someone willing to keep it well stocked and tidy on a daily basis I believe jammy is spot on. A monitor with either the weather or current specials of your product line set up on a continuing loop would also be helpful. easy-lift guy
  6. Greetings!, Enjoy and learn like everyone else on a daily basis on ArbTalk. easy-lift guy
  7. A mistake is a mistake, however if this continues I am going to have to wear rubber gloves and a mask for future visits to ArbTalk just in case it is contagious! easy-lift guy
  8. Steve, Please let me know as well since i would like to donate 1 Easy-Lift Harness, Arborist Model. easy-lift guy
  9. Dear Abbie: "Gee I have always wanted to start out a reply like this" Congrats on getting your thread started and yes you have come to the right place for your information needs. All the best. easy-lift guy
  10. Try to rehydrate yourself slowly by increasing your water intake, 2 x 150mg Ibuprofen before you go to bed and continue every 12 hours. Should be feeling better in 48 to 72 hours. No I am not a doctor, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last week so that should count for something and I also treat my self the same way after a hard days work. easy-lift guy
  11. The trees you planted will take in CO2 and produce O. That pretty much sums up the whole matter and IMHO weather is cyclical. Has been and always will be. easy-lift guy
  12. geoff your advice was spot on, concise and to the point, esp with regards to the Aspen fuel suggestion. elg
  13. All spiders bite and inject venom into their meal or victim. If you can Google this spider. there is a listing from Penn State which has some interesting stuff about it. elg
  14. skyhuck is correct. No one can Pimp your goods or services better than you can. Leave all of the others for the bottom feeders to buy from. The fact that your established and advertising your product means more to the informed consumer than the fly by nighter's will ever know or could. easy-lift guy
  15. I believe like anything else if you use something and your not trained correctly in it use you are going to be held responsible. I believe what you are interested in purchasing is an item that you must buy in person. Not everything can be purchased on line and this I believe would be top on the list. This week I spent the last 3 days in Hartford, CT. USA showing and allowing my customers to try on and use my lifting harness and it really made a difference when it came time for their purchasing decision. I was one of about 100 venders at the TCIA trade show and there were many venders there with climbing harnesses and the like answering all questions and allowing the customer to try on and use said climbing belt's on the spot so as to compare and decide. This IMO is the best way to be an informed buyer and this can not be done on line. You can see some of the pictures I took from the show and posted on my thread about the TCIA show. You may find them interesting. easy-lift guy
  16. Like anything else the key word id "unique", make sure you can get spare parts for anything like "unique", or vintage. Otherwise when it go's down for lack of spares it may up being a common piece of scrap metal. easy-lift guy
  17. Cot, the answer to your question would be both, in a perfect situation. I would suggest going to your supplier and try on the various kit you are interested in and make sure the dealer has a clear knowledge of their product line. Next step would be to ask for at least 3 customers that use the type of gear your interested in and arrange a demo with them to better advise you on the product line. More times than not this will not be an issue for the dealer to provide you with this information. The Key is to be an informed consumer since this is an "investment" for your future source of income. I believe if you follow this simple suggestion you will be more confident with your purchasing decision and there will be less stress over the whole matter, let us know how you made out. All the best. easy-lift guy
  18. Morten it sounds like your a big fan of Aspen and the product seems fool proof, no pund intended. That being said,"knowledge is power" and this thread has pretty much covered the gambit of possible solutions for solving ATC's Saw issue. If all else fails he may still have to take the saw into a local repair shop for it to run again. That in it's self would not be the end of the world but lessons learned have different prices at different times. Let us know how you make out and for the most part the membership is trying to help with a little razzing thrown in at no additional charge! All the best. easy-lift guy
  19. Dave, Round-up will work much better under warmer conditions when active growth is taking place. With a year round growing season here it takes longer when it get's colder. Might I suggest adding a ts. of dish washing liquid per gal. of H20. This is a poor mans spreader sticker and the folks selling Round-up really don't want you to know, so I did not tell you. easy-lift guy
  20. Offering to help deliver logs is great. Any real knowledge with towing a trailer full of logs and driving with traffic conditions during the winter would be more of a concern to me. I guess your wife has the knowledge and confidence to be able to help you with this task and driving with an automatic is always easier. I would just make sure that her confidence level matched her driving skills first and foremost. This will keep the Drama to a Minimum. Auto all the way. easy-lift guy
  21. " Got to pay your dues of you want to ding the Blues and you know it don't come easy" Ringo Starr/GeorgeHarrison. Take the song to heart. easy-lift guy
  22. The person you refered to as a customer was actually a jack wagon. Here in the states most people would love to have the type of wood to burn nearly regardless of the size material. What ever you do don't take it personel. I believe the customer was looking for an excuse for a better price at your own expense. I would add this person to my Black book and never serve again. easy-lift guy
  23. And some more pics from day 2 of the TCI Expo 2011 Click HERE for photos of Day 2 at the TCI Expo 2011 ...plus a video for you Watch the Rope Machine enjoy ELG
  24. As a Cat owner I find your suggestion offensive, however highly effective I am sure. Thanks for sharing. easy-lift guy
  25. Thanks Dave, more to come and I hope to download some vid if possible. easy-lift guy
