  1. Most trees are very resilient and with enough careful pruning/fertilization and time, the trees should reorient them self's well enough. You will be pressing cider in no time! easy-lift guy.
  2. This seems to be a novel ability that your wife has, however my only concern is liability. Regardless how well intended the care offered is, I would choose to leave it for a professional. Less drama, less what if's. easy-lift guy
  3. That protocal is sound and I can believe it would help with the over all plan of control, not mentioned in the story so who really knows what's up? easy-lift guy
  4. Try a bungie cord, unless they can chew thru it I would like to see them cope with the spring action. easy-lift guy
  5. Just curious how many cases of Dendroctonus ponderosae have been recorded in this neck of the woods ie. how far back to the present? easy-lift guy
  6. Just read the story, I suspect with no protocal in place to prevent additional spreading of the spores this will be as effective as pounding SALT. IMO I believe it will acheive nothing and allow the virus to continue to spread. easy-lift guy.
  7. Since the unemployment is very high here ATM most of the excess south of the boarder folks are back in Mexico since Mexico has about 5% unemployment ATM. I hope they will remain there and build a better country for their people. Only time and the economy will tell. easy-lift guy
  8. That will do it!, Take care. easy-lift guy
  9. Got some photos from the final day of the TCI Expo which was this past Saturday. Even spotted a member of Arbtalk. See if you can find him. Click HERE to view photos from Day 3 of the TCI Expo 2011 -elg
  10. Most if not all South of the border are very hard workers, however due to their culture and not wanting to appear weak or smart amongst their peers can and will work much harder than they have to. I believe a lot has to due with their height and desire to not speak a second language like English. easy-lift guy
  11. Tommer9 as a runner your shinsplints are mainly due to the calf muscles developing faster than the muscles in the front of the leg. Most people out grow this and over time it does not come back. Any number of things could have caused your pain in your shins including, not warming up and stretching well enough before your little trot, shoe selection or wearing shoes worn out, and you may also have one leg longer than the other!, which is more common than one might expect. When the latter is a possibility this can really throw out your entire upper torso which may account for your back issue as well. A Podiatrist could help better diagnose your issues and a running Podiatrist would be your best choice. easy-lift guy
  12. Mark, According to the ad I believe you can still work until your 18 and by than most people are burned out anyway. easy-lift guy
  13. Arbogrunt, Please say it isn't so!, I just read that yin's have ethanol mixed with your fuel stocks?. I can understand how Stupid the American public can be to allow it but you have it over your way too? easy-lift guy
  14. On this side of the pond, now that you mentioned it there are very few ethnic minorities in the business of Arboriculture. After attending and exhibiting in hundreds of shows at the regional, national and international level I can say they are very few or far in between, from an owner/operator stand point. From a groundie stand point there are legions of them, but I think most prefer to work from the ground usually much harder than they need to so as to not loose face amongst their peers, Sad but all so true! easy-lift guy
  15. Most larger dealers around these parts have a cooler with drinks for sale and sometimes a coffee machine. The coffee is nearly always free and if you get into the shop early enough a supply of donuts can be found but they have a habit of disappearing within the first hour of operation. If you have the space and someone willing to keep it well stocked and tidy on a daily basis I believe jammy is spot on. A monitor with either the weather or current specials of your product line set up on a continuing loop would also be helpful. easy-lift guy
  16. Greetings!, Enjoy and learn like everyone else on a daily basis on ArbTalk. easy-lift guy
  17. A mistake is a mistake, however if this continues I am going to have to wear rubber gloves and a mask for future visits to ArbTalk just in case it is contagious! easy-lift guy
  18. Steve, Please let me know as well since i would like to donate 1 Easy-Lift Harness, Arborist Model. easy-lift guy
  19. Dear Abbie: "Gee I have always wanted to start out a reply like this" Congrats on getting your thread started and yes you have come to the right place for your information needs. All the best. easy-lift guy
  20. Try to rehydrate yourself slowly by increasing your water intake, 2 x 150mg Ibuprofen before you go to bed and continue every 12 hours. Should be feeling better in 48 to 72 hours. No I am not a doctor, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last week so that should count for something and I also treat my self the same way after a hard days work. easy-lift guy
  21. The trees you planted will take in CO2 and produce O. That pretty much sums up the whole matter and IMHO weather is cyclical. Has been and always will be. easy-lift guy
  22. geoff your advice was spot on, concise and to the point, esp with regards to the Aspen fuel suggestion. elg
  23. All spiders bite and inject venom into their meal or victim. If you can Google this spider. there is a listing from Penn State which has some interesting stuff about it. elg
  24. skyhuck is correct. No one can Pimp your goods or services better than you can. Leave all of the others for the bottom feeders to buy from. The fact that your established and advertising your product means more to the informed consumer than the fly by nighter's will ever know or could. easy-lift guy
  25. I believe like anything else if you use something and your not trained correctly in it use you are going to be held responsible. I believe what you are interested in purchasing is an item that you must buy in person. Not everything can be purchased on line and this I believe would be top on the list. This week I spent the last 3 days in Hartford, CT. USA showing and allowing my customers to try on and use my lifting harness and it really made a difference when it came time for their purchasing decision. I was one of about 100 venders at the TCIA trade show and there were many venders there with climbing harnesses and the like answering all questions and allowing the customer to try on and use said climbing belt's on the spot so as to compare and decide. This IMO is the best way to be an informed buyer and this can not be done on line. You can see some of the pictures I took from the show and posted on my thread about the TCIA show. You may find them interesting. easy-lift guy
