  1. Andrew, Woodpeckers will create many holes for harvesting insects in trees that are dead and dieing. Do take care like woodchopper said if you are going to do any climbing for removal of said tree. Looking forward to the pics. easy-lift guy
  2. My only advice from timber farms here in the states is make sure you count every truck leaving your site, also the harvesting company should be able to meet your requirements for replanting. Also get references from this firm and contact his clients. Be an informed seller of your commodity. All the best. easy-lift guy
  3. Mark I would suggest that you carefully invest your Working Capital with the bare Minimum of kit you can afford. Build off of your strengths and learn from others and keep your mistakes to a Min. There usually more expensive than most are willing to admit. Observe the KISS method for your advertising and establish a budget for all of your expenses. This may sound silly and trivial but many people go into business with the best intentions and after one season if their equipment is worth 5 cents on the Dollar and no reserves left to draw off of things start to appear pretty bleak in a hurry. All that being said I would suggest having at least 1 years worth of funds available to take care of your day to day bills. This is not a rainy day fund, it is $$$$ that you should have any way in the event that things don't pan out!. I concur with jimbob that advertising should be concise and to the point. Don't waste money on fluff and whistles. The customer wants basic service to start out and always honor you customers wishes, unless the property is covered with Poo in which case "I believe you should stay away from at all cost". I do not believe at this time you will need a Web-Site since your only getting started. I believe if you can see a 20% growth from year to year use funds from said growth to expand with a web-site and with your customers permission allow them to brag about your good work. It will pay back better since they will be happy to help and they like to net-work with friends/neighbors. There is no one that can Pimp yourself better than YOU!. All the best. easy-lift guy
  4. Taupottreeman is very correct. I only had this happen to me a few times and on each occasion I more or less told the customer I could not help them with any type of work for their property. Not a one every questioned why as I did my best to clean my work boots before I got in my truck. easy-lift guy
  5. Just curious were the "tubes" contaminated with weed seed in the first place?, and I am wondering about any long term effects regarding herbicide contact and possible translocation of said herbicide to root system of weeds and than trees over time?. easy-lift guy
  6. You may have Mono? or the Flu or both. Hope your feeling better, If you do have Mono lots of bed rest will be in order. easy-lift guy
  7. BOB or go to bed with no milk and cookies. easy-lift guy
  8. Dear Joe, Really nice truck. Just curious were you able to get a case of new truck smell so it will at least smell like a new truck for the next year?. Enjoy and take care. easy-lift guy
  9. So another words you have the right to fight it out in court?. Sounds a little more than vague to me. easy-lift guy
  10. You are correct and let's not forget the PRICE! easy-lift guy
  11. It may be a matter of timing and available inventory from your competition. How your advertising can also make a difference. easy-lift guy
  12. Have faith in yourself and your abilities. Your kit and practice will serve you well. Remember there are hundreds if not thousands who have gone thru what your dealing with ATM. You will overcome!. easy-lift guy

    40th

It the thought that counts. easy-lift guy
  14. Any load over 15 miles from the yard $10.00 extra. I have transported up to 4 cords at once but the problem is unloading with a pallet jack and on to a flat pad, not always available but I do my best. Also the traffic is really bad this time of year thru Easter. Much shorter season here in the Sunshine State we do the best we can considering. easy-lift guy
  15. The former leader of Libya may be at room temp now, but IMO there will be years of civil war with over 100 factions running various parts of the country. It seems that the present regime running this country just sent the carpet bagger over with promises of lots of cash to rebuild, I wonder how many Shoulder fired STA missiles will be recovered before there used on friendly nations?. easy-lift guy
  16. Thanks treequip. It is a pitty that the utility provider allowed this in the first place. easy-lift guy
  17. If I were you I would contact the utility company pronto and get their take on the matter first before I spend any more time on this bid. It may be their job for maintenance and removal since it appears in their right of way?. Be curious what they would have to say? easy-lift guy
  18. Welcome Tyz05. Enjoy and learn from the site. easy-lift guy
  19. Sounds like someone peed in the Sergeant's Wheeties this morning, At least you got your kit back and they did not make an example of your situation. easy-lift guy
  20. Your right Len, however will the people of England be willing to follow up and force assimlation upon these type folks or more of the same so as to not upset anyone? Selected enforcement of the law provides at best selected results and a lot more hand ringing. easy-lift guy.
  21. Here in the states I believe it is called profiling and at least here in the Sunshine state of Florida if the police have "probable cause" they can ask permission first to search and if anything is in plain sight proceed further and search more, than the dog's are called out and than back up arrives and before you know it your either sent on your way or your stuff is impounded along with yourself. It is not a script from Cops it has happened to me once and Barney Fife and his crew tried and failed to pin anything on me. Just wasted my time and theirs and wasted a lot of resources in the process. I guess they were trying to show the Sarge that night and failed there too!. Did you get your Kit back?? easy-lift guy
  22. Just read the news story and watched aerial video of Police in action. Although I believe we have the same issues with squaters and malcontents here in the states I agree with difflock. When any group or association of persons take advantage of the system to the point of armed conflict this group should be rounded up and punished for said actions against society as a whole. It appears that this problem will only get worse since the offenders continue to want full protection from law enforcement while at the same time continue to thumb their noses at the same law they seek protection from. These folks I guess will not conform to the laws of the land and it is a pity that with all the effort spent avoiding and skirting the law how much better things could be if they would just grow up and end the game. I guess some never want to leave never never land. easy-lift guy
  23. That is some story, sounded like something right out of Monty Python, but in this case for real, go have someone drive you down Pronto and get your kit back easy-lift guy
  24. Mike, There is a big difference between a High population and a bigger market. I believe I said bigger market and sales can be had on most everything here in the states at the end of the year to make room for new models and clear out old stock. Someone actually posted a price of $700.00 for a easy-lift harness about a week ago and even after the difference in the currency the price was no where near that amount, esp. since this person could have bough direct since he was not from the UK. I guess it depends on your math. easy-lift guy
