    People Poo .

This is true. A firm i relief truck drive for used to have the contract to take away the screenings. They come in two grades. Grit, which is full of road gully grit washout, contains grit and a massive amount of sweetcorn shells because we dont digest them. The other type that stank more that sludge cake was the rag skip. Condoms, fanny plasters, fanny plugs along with any unbiodegradable stuff that idiots flush down the toilet. Cotton buds, nappies, baby wipes etc. If we didnt have idiots flush and forgetting this skip would be redundant! We carried this on the highway in open topped skips useledsly sheeted,on more than one occassion ive gone round a roundabout or had to slam on and lost some of this on the road and redecorated the back of the cab. Maybe these days its handled and dried better. It ends up on landfill which it should of gone to in the first place with domestic waste. Sent from my LG-K100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  2. New zealand having a soil that ameliorates rapidly suffers from efficiencies. A small area is irrigated then stocked at a heavy ratio. Then stock taken off . irrigated and fert applied restocked again. All the while the fert, urine and dung rapidly flushed into river systems. Algae bloom along with imported didymo. Snuffs out the life sustaining sun shine. But nah we'll carry on it works well. ..kg beef per acre. Got to be a better way. Its. Just getting producers out of their safe routine. People only tend to care about their own back yard concerns. The haulage industry gets most of the moving done. Yet its a maligned industry. Not supported, persecuted more likely. Every industry should be able to stand on its own merit. How much was that new tractor again? Sent from my LG-K100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  3. Agree with the merlin engine and the typhoons letting rip is pleasant. Im told the john deere 6620 we have is pleasant. Some have you tubed this model for this reason. Sent from my LG-K100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  4. Very true, it wouldn't bother me. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  5. Looks like a tidy inversion. To nit pick plough or track width not quite spot on as you can see each pass with a line. However I've done this and as long as alls going well and you are enjoying it, that's the main thing Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  6. Chilterns seeds do seed. Easy to grow Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  7. Dvla should rebrand the Dfla for dept for losing alot. We got a cat c vehicle and applied nov 9th. On second attempt we finally got v5 3 weeks ago. A chap i know had insurance threaten to pull out bescause they "hadnt receieved" his change of ownership either. And before anyone starts about the volume of errors being relatively low. I dont want to derail this thread. Nice stealthy colour Bob. Blue thunder? And sorry but its just a waste of scania that horsebox. Sent from my LG-K100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  8. If in doubt enter it in to the.. "Rate my hinge thread" Job sorted👍 Sent from my LG-K100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  9. Been there. Definitely stratify. Ive brought seeds back from abroad and had very poor results. Put in a gritty compost. Bottom of fridge in an old takeaway plastic container or similar. Keep moist. Sow next spring. A bit late to stratify and sow this year. Sent from my LG-K100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  10. I think almost all modern pickups are fads. Chromed testicle enhancements. It was Opel mantas and coupes in the 80s- early 90s However it's the towing. I can see huge time saving in our fencing work with just a flatbed with dropsides, but even more with tipping capability. A standard tub these days is just numb. It's as awkward as getting in and out a rowing boat me thinks. Tipping trailers aren't massive . It's a compromise between weight and volume with our road regs. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  11. No. Lynch pin put in clevis type drawbar. Then drawbar pin wiggled out. No ive not done it myself. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  12. I mounted a spin drum on an old disc from a farm implement. A wheel rim would work as well. You will wreck the spindle if your rough removing it. I smashed the chocolate alloy pulley off though. Sent from my LG-K100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  13. Fruit pears are deliberately planted at angles up to 45° to improve cropping. Its a sap flow thing. But if its going to irritate . dig a big rootball out 70-100cm diameter and realigne it. Happens all the time in landscaping and nursery trade. The fruit orchards prune roots by digging a circle as part of revitalising. Sent from my LG-K100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  14. Not being a delibrate irritation. But that is not a tree. A tree is usually a single woody stem(trunk) Im from the nursery trade. As suggested plant it so the stem you want is upright and finish the nurseries job off by giving it a good stout cane. Ive not grown kousa. However you might be better of doing it end of the month, with sap flowing it may flex better. You get a feel of breaking point how far to go. Maybe keep coming back and tying it at intervals. Only when you have successfully tied it up, id prune out the other stems. Unless you want it to have a magnolia shape and form. Id keep the far right strong stem and in 5-10 years as it thickens the kink will dissapper Sent from my LG-K100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  15. I personally am not a fan. Bullfinches go mad for the buds, to me it's a glorified blackthorn. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  16. Myrobalan plum or other purple leaved species. Bit like beetroot effect. Alnus comes from a germanic word alors meaning red., refering to the colour of newly exposed timber. But its more of a ginger red Sent from my LG-K100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  17. I have relatives in T.A when ive been there in December ive found it a bit hot and once it was terribly humid. Was glad to be inside not working outdoors. Im normally an outdoor thriver. Just a warning not a moan. Sent from my LG-K100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  18. Just reread o.p. The drainage issue will be. "Not my problem" from the construction industry. All year round paddling, trampling with machinery then a cosmetic 300mm of structure less soil. In horticulture and agriculture it would be subsoiled to heave it. Then air and water would flow through the lot. Even if you augered 20ft deep holes and backfilled with premium growing media. The water would accumulate in them. As good as your intentions are to prune the. Willow. It will only maybe get done once. Its likely your client wont be prepared to keep investing. Ive planted several woodlands and haven't got round to even visiting them yet. Just been realistic. Sent from my LG-K100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  19. Rowan like free draining soil that gets regular rainfall. Hence mountain ash. More a cumbria area tree. They hate sitting wet in clay then baking dry. Hornbeam should do ok as alder. Willow are a bit of a high maintenance tree in urban areas and have a bad boy reputation. Taxodium and metasequioa. Juglans nigra not regia can do ok in clay. Holly oak and sessile oak. Probably other oaks as well. Sent from my LG-K100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  20. Its all a paper created farse. People who spent too long in education creating rules. Yes you need permits to chip. To compost. To burn on site generated waste. It costs a fortune to tip legally(£86 per ton just for landfill tax from coming April) A firm i know composted tons of green waste but needed more paperwork and permits to shift it apart from on their own land. Meanwhile a "tarmacing transit outfit " i know of sticks ads illegally everywhere claiming to recycle 99%. Instead they keep a skip constantly alight in a yard rented on a farm where the farmer uses tractors to haul hookloader bins from the city to dump on the farm and heap up or burn on the side of a river managed by the EA. This has gone on for over 5 years. Since he got out of prison for growing weed as his previous enterprise. Sent from my LG-K100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  21. I drive concrete mixers quite a bit. Several ways you could go about it. You could get an extra strong mix with more cement to finish the surface off. Definitely ask questions when ordering. Its amazing how many numptys buy a cheap mix even so called professionals. DONT WET IT UP EXCESSIVELY. Many do to make it easier. There is formulas how much this actually weakens it. We get hgvs 6or8 wheelers through some tight spots. 9ft wide with mirrors in. Hiring a simple tow along concrete pump with operator is cheaper than 4 blokes with a barrow and paying £1.50&vat per minute after the included 5 min per cubic mtr. Concrete is expensive. The cement and aggregate are taxed as quarry products as an extra. Do it once. Do it right. Sent from my LG-K100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  22. If you can leave a net or sheet under your tree to catch this years seed. It will br ok to repot the oak mid summer. They would send tap root straight to the bottom of s two litre pot as well. Just lift the trays now and again to prevent rooting through. The pruning action will cause the roots to use more of the cell. Sent from my LG-K100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  23. Yes viable seed sink. This applies to many nut type seeds. I once bought a load of beech from a seed company. Floated before sowing to rid the rubbish, sure enough many floated and where crushable in a finger pinch. Viable embryos are solid without air or pests inside and not crushable with fingers. Please be aware a percentage will of deteriorated since harvest now. All nutty seed are best sown fresh and stratifying will increase results and consistency. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  24. It does look like something from a Tim burton film. It would be interesting to see the regrowth, how the plant responds. I took a row of droopy conifers out like that at bottom of my garden. 8ft of dead lifeless centers. Very easy to grub stumps out with 1.6 ton digger. Sent from my LG-K100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  25. Aluminium, would need something bigger than a beer can though. Lead gets nicked. A bitumous paint on the top and an inch down the sides to hold it on should last a while. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
