  1. Matt i acquired a atom drill attachment off ebay. It augers 22mm holes through a 8 inch post in 10-12 seconds. Its attached to a husky 357xp which is too much power. But i prefer to be top of the job. I bought it to drill about 800 holes in a cattle corral. Easy to use and suprised at the absence of twist or shock loading. I think rob d of chainsawbars.co.uk can supply echo 2 stroke drill power units. I imagine you can get non hammer masonry bits maybe as well from somewhere Sent from my LG-K100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  2. This is two days after rolling with an ordinary agricultural Cambridge roller. The standing bracken is in a ditch Sent from my LG-K100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  3. Tried to watch the squirrels links to the video. Crashed then made an auto email to send to tapatalk which also failed to send Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  4. Concrete weighs about 2400kg per cubic metre whereas steel is about 8000kg for same volume. Just in case someone thinks their concrete weights need to be the same size. But I don't think we have any daft people on here[emoji849] Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  5. Nice work and I think a puffin needs to be painted. Good choice. Reminds me of a day trip to isle of Staffa to watch them up close Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  6. Racing pigeons get battered by peregrines, fly into utility wires in fog and get a dose of lead, yet still make it home on race day. They are tough. Bit like the chap in the double hard thread that got walloped by a bus. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk

Nice review, I appreciate it. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  8. I've just done some bruising with a compact tractor. One site is fine and was mulched properly. The other was not done so well. That site cost me a refill of trans fluid as it took the pipe out. It's an unpredictable job as you can't see what's under your nose in a sea of dense green. However if you spray late August with round up. The sap is flowing down to rhizomes and it hurts it bad apparently, I intend to do it on the above site. Their will be enough regrowth then. To mention perhaps the obvious, soon bracken will be suffocating the trees if any planted. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk

I've used the battery pack felco. Much easier on the rsi. I do find my trigger finger a bit short and have to reach with it. Take care I imagine very easy to react the wrong way and take a finger. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  11. Surely roundup or such should finish it off. Or even diy solutions such as salt. Trouble is folk dont rise to challenges. They are instantly bewildered and non reactive. I think i trickled some mucky diesel out a fuel filter on a hc stump at my parents last year. Bit noticed any growth this season. Sent from my LG-K100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  12. Try that sniff a bit of string up your nostril and spit it out your mouth trick, then pull on both ends. Let us know how it goes. Saw and oil fumes. Along with diesel exhaust, wood dust and moulds, spores etc can't be good wholesale day in day out. Must be better than the days of the under dog in the old sawmill. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  13. They arent always right. Thats why you get a second opinion sometimes. I was told inaccurate info for decades by consultants included one labelled a professor! But yes they should know what their subject matter is and are mostly right. Unfortunately sometimes science and higher learning leads to arrogance, which gets in the way of progress. 14. Will try and have a look on our bryce tomorrow i imagine returning the oil unhindered to resevoir plays a big part through a. Wider bore pipe. I reckon the return port on the valve makes a difference. The return will go straight back to tank out the block whereas. A double will have valves inline. Im sure all our block Is double. Ill email you. Sent from my LG-K100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  15. Just calculated mine myself 2.5tdci 4x4 25.3mpg half that tankful was towing. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  16. 19cm from under the floor to top of tyre on a ford ranger with vfs tipper. That is partially loaded and probably original 8 year old springs. It's 30cm from underfloor to bottom of chassis behind rear wheel Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  17. Our damp climate I guess. We soak up the moisture and swell up. Plus extra weight in weather gear sticky boots, more strain. Whereas like when you used warm water to clean things go easier as do hydraulics and transmissions. I'm a delicate flower. My hearing significantly alters with a change in weather pressure, so who knows what changes our bodies go through unnoticed. I would rather run in a t shirt and shorts on a warm day than in wellingtons and winter gear on a cold day. Not science just my experience Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  18. Me too, a ten week pre teaser trying to get us in a buying frenzy. Stihl enjoying my 346xpg and ported 346xp. I'll just watch and not buy. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  19. Yes having owned a tractor pto chipper then hiring a small chipper away from home for a favour at my brother in laws. I lost the will to chip rapidly! Sent chipper back within an hour. We have discussed sawhorses often over the years and also branch loggers. Which is an eastern. European concept with operates like a chipper but you get rough cut logs quite quickly. Here's a couple of links to look at http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/firewood-forum/33895-oregon-easycut-sawhorse-review.html http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/firewood-forum/20652-tr70-branch-logger-apf.html Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  20. Probably damper, the cold places lock up the moisture and dry somehow, like when we used to get freezes and puddles dry out under the iced over top. you walk on them and the crumble to a dry airpocket/
  21. Napolean Dynamite is said to of been edited on imovie. That was along time ago. Imovie did go rubbish, I think its better again.
  22. Yes true. I wasn't including reversion. This happens in the field when they are nursery grown. It's frustrating to see a row of identical trees except for the reversion rebels. It will happen for a reason and it occurs randomly. You can take adjacent buds from bud wood and get one of each. I was also trying to clarify a point earlier in the thread, just in case folk didn't realise these are propagated this way Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  23. As far as I know, all Drummondii are budded or grafted. Depending on the graft union height, above the union it will resprout drummondii and below will only produce whatever the seedling rootstock was. This will not necessarily be plain green. As for reducing go ahead, only the usual maple concerns, excessive bleeding and wounds that may get fungal attack would be of concern to me. Vigourous regrowth could also happen. Glad i did mine reading this. Its no ones fault on this thread that the law has become so vague in print. But i know i can jump in a truck and go. Not worry about my part. If the vehicle is not insured correctly etc at least ive done my bit in good faith. As a recent example of this ive pulled trailer that was brand new last august quite a bit up to this month. Yet it was illegal much of that time because the maker had never registered it as a road going vehicle. It did get registered last month! If i checked everything id never get any work done. Its time it was all redone simply from scratch. Sent from my LG-K100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  25. My time is too valuable. My proffession is less arb orientated anyway these days. I just check the timeline for whats relevant to me or where i feel i might be able to offer input. Hence why i checked in on Daniels joking. Because some do believe anything from the world wide web. I would of thought the average arbtalker has only a relative band of interests from the broad coverage it has. Said in the nicest way. I will leave it there as i feel responsible for starting a derail. Sent from my LG-K100 using Arbtalk mobile app
