  1. Allowed on two lane carriageways even that article says narrow lane go single file. Whilst it may seem a personal vendetta against cyclist . I'm quoting from recent experience. Recently went all the way through a village following a single cyclist could not overtake, I drive tractors and heavy goods vehicles. I will pull over to let others progress, a truck is a lot harder to pull up than a bike. Also recently I was going down a country lane near York when I came across a cyclist stopped resting, he was stood on the verge with bike on the road. Never shifted. I had to mount the verge with 32 tons of truck. To get past him. He was facing me and saw me coming (not speeding)That is either blatant ignorant of arrogant.. The problem I see. Our roads are busier and then people exercise their rights to use them in rude ways. Whereas I grew up with the green X code were your safety was your perogitive. Now it's the insured road user that cops it. Plus I've had my fair share of nasty bully trucker syndrome. green cross code Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  2. Might be worth sending a couple of dead saws to make into a good un. A few guys on here do it. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  3. I tried to comment this morning but phone froze up. I have 357 and 346 in both versions heated and Unheated. Like your dad I started with the 357. After reading favourable comments about the 346xp(g) on this forum I bought one, it's only slightly less powerful than 357. I had mine ported by spud on here. It now outperforms the 357 in such a way you get the job done quicker and less vibration exposure. The 357 will numb my hands in 3 hours of use. The 346 I can work all day. If you r dad is in in east Yorks I'm quite happy for him to try them to compare. The husqvarna website used to have and may still have a vibration calculator chart which verifys what I've said. What does he use them for?
  4. I think the video idea is best. Get him arriving and parking then let him go inside. Then get a genuine disabled person to "turn up" and fill the disabled bay legitimately. Video him coming out in. Full health ranting. Have a group to reason with him. If he is going to keep it up the council will be informed with the eyewitness (video) evidence. If he behaves leave it at that. If not pursue the slower council route!
  5. I'm a country boy. Whilst the north island is very nice the south is our choice. Fresh air everywhere except Christchurch. It's a bit too British for me and its in a stale spot fresh air wise sometimes. As much as my wife and I love NZ. We have spent 9-10 month there in the last 11 years. It's too slow a pace for me. You seem to be waiting for people to get on with it. Also it has its social and domestic issues which don't show up in the uk. Read the NZ news such as nzherald or nztv websites for an idea of reality.
  6. Replies will come along but meanwhile there is several threads to browse through in this subject that may give you information. I have visited several times. Auckland is nice enough but an overpriced location. You will get a better NZ lifestyle elsewhere for a family for your $ Just as examples Tauranga Gisborne Nelson Dunedin. Wellington and their surrounding regions. Taupotreeman on here moved to NZ and is based nr taupo. There are others as well Tell us a bit more about what you want. Have you been there yet?
  7. Echo chambers is a good one. Books I've enjoyed reading are anout professor richard Feynman. Who worked on the Manhattan project developing the A bomb. His way of thinking, reasoning can't help but make a difference to those he lectured. He defied conventional education. It's not hard reading either. Books are "surely your joking mr Feynman" And "It's fun finding out about things" or something like that. A man that constantly stimulated himself with challenges. But as you say kvel.... I'm sure a pointless English lit teacher could bore it to death about it with some nonsensical interpretation. With the talent on arbtalk we could create our own school for the real world. Without even mentioning a tree.
  8. I'd say sycamore too, I've seen them with big fat plump green seeds in hedgerow trees. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  9. Could be, but doesn't it normally peel in bigger bits? Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk

  11. Surely that's to take away waste to be sorted not green waste transported just down the road? Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  12. Not a happy birch. It could be betula Nigra or another type. Leaves are quite pointed for pendula. It could be though.
  13. That statement could cause an AT bun fight. Stand back whilst the person with brand x and the sore nerve comes forward. [emoji875][emoji378][emoji1015] Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk

  15. All I've been doing for weeks is truck driving. Yesterday I took my wife with me from 7-10am when she started work. She told me "I'm amazing!" Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  16. This is the drum I bang on, on all points and as with everything else lack of respect and appreciation, everybody wants the material goods. But don't want trucks, plus you get carved up, which if fine but when the truck driver needs a bit more room it's viewed as bullying. You are on your own. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  17. I knew it would be an extra complication to hold the job up. Never got saved up for the mondeo yet. Still running the sierra[emoji106] Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk

  19. They can be dominantly one sided. With a bit of work it could be coaxed with canes and string to bring the other side up. When grown on nurseries from small plants they droop and are caned to get the height. Often they can stop at the height they were last tied to and just bulk up. Bend a few pieces up and train them. Hopefully the higher pieces will take apical dominance. The best time is early summer when new growth is supple. They will snap more readily than normal beech. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  20. Farmers will unlikely want the sticky sap on their best food grade trailers. There is schemes in place were the same trailer will not lead farm muck and corn. I also take it your not concerned about hire & reward regs using red diesel etc. I think it's about £25-32 per hour. A better idea might be to get a waste firm in with a 40-50cubic metre hook loader bins.
  21. It will be something proffesional. Nowt to do with Cowboys like us😁
  22. Pffft! Highly unlikely unless your already loaded or a farmer. Money tends to go to money. A couple of years ago I remember someone applying for a grant but a condition of it was you already had to have the money for the kit in your bank. Buy it then get the grant money. Sorry it's a negative first reply hope it gets the ball rolling for better ideas.
  23. I was fortunate and did this. No theory, no rigid straight into artic. Now there is a shortage of C+E drivers maybe it's time it came back in. I know lots of us sat on the licence driving C or like me not driving that much. It didn't produce worse drivers and no offence to recent graduates but some now are shocking.
  24. Never expected s a kings to be so cheap. How much are the engines though? Not much use without them. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  25. Yes what test you take you only get classes under it. Which to be fair a heavy trailer is a bit different to a 3500kg. Even if a farm worker can just jump onto a 32000kg air braked 50mph kit[emoji848] Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
