  1. Nice! you are a privledged man. I enjoyed the company and companionship i had with mine. Sent from my LG-K100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  2. I tend to only read whats of interest to me and avoid round and round tail chasing of politics and opinions. So im oblivous to such. Ive just seen what is typed taken not as well as if spoken due to the tone and other subtle features of spoken words. Sent from my LG-K100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  3. Whilst this above is in jest maybe. Its all nonsense. Unlike sheep goats are a diverse bunch of characters. They can be really fussy. By choice they would rather not eat at ground level. Contained in an area they will strip most vegetation to nothing. They thrive on debarking woody plants with their single row of bottom teeth and bashing with horns. When i kept goats they often went on clearance jobs. However due to their indivdual characters you will get some that have little interest in trees. I wouldnt leave any goat unattended with trees as 1/2 hr is alot of destruction time for one goat. As for the lead comment. Im not bothered. It is insensitive and could start petty debates which isnt good on a proffesional forum. Peace[emoji114] [emoji106] Sent from my LG-K100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  4. Ive got a similar size lump. They can have for £195! Sent from my LG-K100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  5. Ive just finally scrapped my rotten escort van. Only thing i never sorted on a van was cambelt failure. Its all the hassle of an engine swop. But a new head wouldnt be to bad. At the time it was quicker to get another van. Its cost effective to spend a few hundred in my opinion rather thsn risk buying someone elses issues. Do most myself. But paid-£400 nearly 3 years ago on welding and spent little since. Its about impossible for a vehicle to depreciate at that rate alone. Unless for tax purposes you need to spend. 6. Id email palax. No manufacturer has yet failed to sort me out. Ive done it about 4 times a d one was italian. Sent from my LG-K100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  7. This is a more valid point than people realise in the moment. When the attitude is i can clear off and do what i want. You havnt got a contract over me that says otherwise. It can come back and bite you in the bum. Everyone ive ever worked for ive bumped into again since. More than not ive gained jobs or contacts. Im talking about a large geographic area. Ive always left in a civil fashion or on very good terms. Ive seen the cocky swagger off. Then return. To be told no thank you. We are doing well without you. 8. I would've thought piano keys are the control lever design. But that's just me. Should be a plate on it somewhere. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  9. You can get an adapter to go in a pillar drill to take rotobroach drills and adjust the speed belts accordingly. Not done so myself, it's a cheaper option if you don't need the portability or magnet. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  10. Not in arb. But other enterprises i know alot of women at home glammed up on books absolutely clueless about the business on a good whack. Company car etc. My wife actually does work with me and has a good idea of whats what. She is "employed" by me genuinely. Sent from my LG-K100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  11. Previous post was supposed to have above quote in! A duh moment! Sent from my LG-K100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  12. Wats yer numba al gi yer a bel lata! Sent from my LG-K100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  13. Got to say on the discriminatory issue. You have to be realistic. Im profoundly deaf. I would never expect to earn a living as a sound engineer or thankfully in a call center. If i employed a truck driver to deliver flammable fuel. Id remove the risk at interview stage and not have the smokers. Back to the op. Even if you get someone thats brilliant and pay them well, the grass is much greener elsewhere. You only have to look at the good staff that have come from eastern europe. Glad of work. Graft well. Hear of something better, they gone. Sent from my LG-K100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  14. Cant see why not. Similar weight and set up. And yes the info says it complements the existing springs. But the way i read it you may need a source of air supply fitting or pop to fuel station to inflate! Sent from my LG-K100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  15. I dont know if its earlier in this thread or Another 1 someone took air off a ranger. Id prefer to keep costs and mechanics down. Air is good though i prefer it on heavy trucks i drive. Sent from my LG-K100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  16. And me, wainys way is logical biological best. I've noted on stop overs in Seoul and Hong Kong that they spend a fortune(maybe cheap over there!) on the high rugby goal design supports and I've seen a few establishing or even established trees looking weak or leaning. They maybe more to it such as soil, climate, possibly poorly cultivated stock. I don't know the full details. High tied stakes are also more likely to break due to the higher leverage. Our local council uses 60-70mm diameter stakes with rugby design. Some get trashed by kids, whereas the low ones as pictured are less appealing to vandals. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  17. Never thought about towbar, thanks for that. I assume an adjustable Dixon Bate type towball would overcome this, assuming a whole new towbar isn't needed due to its design. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  18. How have the various purchases worked out for people? Ive contacted Owens at Rotherham. Been given 3 choices. Standard 3+2 Uprated 4+2 or 5+2 Its a tipper and most of its loaded work will be fencing. However when im truck driving it will be empty quite a bit and im wondering how hard the ride might be. 19. Aye. Im far from a horse lover. But have respect for heavy proper working horses. Sent from my LG-K100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  20. Various grades of tarmac gangs. Watch out! Tarmac is rubbish unless done on a superb expensive sub base. Then a good depth of tarmac. Tractor and trailer tyres twist it like a skin and tear it. A cheap solution is road planings. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  21. Do a search I'm sure we've discussed this before on arbtalk. I've done it. Clutch housing bungs up and chain goes blunt. A brush cutter blade also works. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  22. ive just gone from van to tipper. kit security is a concern, you can sort a van vault type thing. i reckon its worth making a demountable unit. my tipper has lights in the chassis and you only have the ram and rear 2 pivots to undo. probably a load of regs why you cant do it. would be good for seasonal use
  23. I've pick a few with bare hands, it's like wrestling a hedgehog up a tree. Take a pruning saw up with you. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  24. Not surprising. I did a headlamp bulb change on sister in laws q8. It took me about 2 hours. Lots to take off. Grill, other bumper related fittings. Slacken off but not remove headlamp unit. (Probably alters aim) What I thought was stupid. You used to replace bulbs roadside. No wonder so many headlamps and tail lights aren't operational. Yet These big car makers are all about safety. A simple fella like me could design a different way to fit a bulb. Take lense of or top to get at it. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  25. A dry spell can weaken them. They need sap and constant moisture to thrive. But it looks like phytophra to me. Its well documented. Google will soon find more info for you. Ive probably read the fc doc quoted above. It is sad news. Sent from my LG-K100 using Arbtalk mobile app
