    New Radio

Get an old sony or similar off a car boot for a couple of quid, they're usually fairly bulletproof and with good sound, ideal for a shed or where you're working
  2. Would seem like a bad idea! Any bits of dirt etc mixing with the grease would turn it in to a grinding paste
  3. Just bought some "Siat" aluminium line, made in Italy, 2.7mm square. Looks like normal line but with sparkly bits in it! First use of it, nothing special, but will see what it's like next time round after the reel has been in the water for a while
  4. Great cheers, just ordered a set of V12 Defiants, will see how we go
  5. Hi, does anyone on here use tall steel toe cap boots with a side zip? This sort of thing V12 Leopard II High Leg Side Zip S3 Safety Boot VR695 Black Leather UK 5 - 13 | eBay Look handy for when you want to just nip in the house to get something, or change in and out of overalls, waterproof trousers etc My only thought would be the zip might dig in or make the boots uncomfortable. They need to be comfy as I often end up walking miles and miles! Anyone use them?
  6. Get someone local in with a machine and pay them with the wood
  7. Does anyone use the Husqvarna ones in the rain, how waterproof are they?
  8. At my parents house there's a few old blackcurrant bushes (been there for decades!) not far from the septic tank soakaway, every year there's a bumper crop of blackcurrants!
  9. I think octopost was being supplied through the highland machinery ring, might be worth a try
  10. Depends what species it is! Also probably not a tonne, more like a "bundle", so go and have a look, and it will vary from day to day. There is a very good sawmill only a couple hundred yard from me but seems all their slabwood is reserved for others! I did once get a few loads, think it was £25 per bundle which when cut was about a loose 3 cubic metre (loaded in my trailer), most didn't need split and you got some kindling out of it too! That was larch, which makes fantastic firewood.
  11. Send me a pair and I'll write you a review
  12. Just bought a new Laser socket set the other day to add to the collection, 1/2" drive, 6pt sockets up to 32mm, £40 from toolstation
  13. To me a strimmer is anything with a line head on! Be it 25cc or 55cc
  14. Thanks to everyone who replied, new oil seal came in the post today and it's all back together, no sign of a leak but the real test will be when it's sat chugging away on the same spot for hours on end Downloaded and saved the manual, cheers, had tried looking online for one before!
  15. Bare in mind the neighbour might be lying, it could be theirs! Try and have a word with all the nearby houses, don't point the finger at anyone, tell them if it happens again you will have to report it to the police and install cameras etc
  16. Remember it will be full of chain oil, so dunno how healthy it would be for animals?
  17. If I remember right you have to (supposed to!) use the tacho for the whole week if at some point you've been in the scope of needing it. ie pull a trailer on the Monday and you have to use the tacho for all your driving, trailer or not, for the rest of the week Of course, if you got stopped and checked on the Tuesday, they wouldn't know what you'd been up to the day before! And all other time spent loading/unloading/working eats in to your driving time. My brother is a hgv driver, does it still count as his weekly rest if he comes and helps with logs on a weekend
  18. Got the flywheel off with a homemade puller (bit of steel) I assume it's the crankshaft seal, plenty of muck splattered round behind the flywheel? How do you change the crank seal, is it possible to do it without splitting the engine open?
  19. UV dye, that sounds very csi!! Finally had the chance to start taking it apart, nice coating of oil and muck
  20. I had a set of the lidl ones but they packed in within a matter of weeks! Lost the receipt so no chance of a refund
  21. I got a 1600kg one off securefixdirect (on ebay) years ago, good bit of kit, doesn't get used that often but has proved very useful and has pulled some fair weights Wire Rope Hoists
  22. Assuming it's on grass (not a driveway!) you could push 4 road pins into the ground to hold the loops on the bag
  23. If you ever fancy working for free in the highlands I'm sure I could include digs
  24. Honda for both Or atleast a Honda engined mower
