  1. haha we used to go thru £140 a day at the track days at knock hill 3mpg springs to mind in a car that weighed 650 kgs
  2. i had a 4.6 hse engine in my kit car it ran throttle bodies and programmable efi chucked out 330hp when i was finished with it loved petrol as well there were problems with the castings on the block they suffered from core slip when they were getting cast and you ended up with an offset hole that when it was machined it was thin on one side and cracked then the liner slipped and it gave the same symptoms as a head gasket this coupled with land rovers crappy hoses caused the demise of many engines the giveaway is usually a misfire on start up as the spark plugs get wet from coolant leakage into the bore apart from that they were pretty reliable from memory a lot were changed under warranty
  3. i have repaired the main shaft on ours twice the second time it got a bit of a redesign as the speed sensor pickup wasn't required and this was the root of all the trouble the bearing fit from standard wasn't particularly good either

  7. i would definatley go for hydraulic winch far better reliability and its more idiot proof
  8. hpc gears do quite an extensive range
  9. ts410 are dead cheap for bits whats wrong with your old one
  10. what happened to the old gear looks ok in the picture
  11. the thor is really quick i have a table for it for 500 lengths and it whizzes thru them

  15. i was at our head office in barnsley last week and there were 4 brand new sany mini diggers in the workshop ready to get sold decent build quality and excellent warranty and more importantly they are very cheap if you are interested pm me

  17. this is nowt to do with trees but i am on the look out for a winch either hyd or pto driven that can go on a tractor in the region of 8-10 ton its for cable and pipe pulling does anybody have such a thing kicking about that they want to sell
  18. don't waste your money trying to repair it if the tear is that bad buy a spare and keep it until its required the failure with these tracks is when the metal cleat inside tears out post a picture to show us how bad the damage is
  19. instead of a winch what about a lifting leg thor do one
  20. no you are correct galvanising when heated gives off zinc and you can get metal poisoning from it ask any welder about galvi flu
  21. thats a bit cryptic whats your equipment scissors or a digger mounted mulcher
