  10. slate is pretty inert to anything my hearth came from a chemical lab and had rings from the acid beakers that were sat on it they came out with a belt sander shot blasting is pretty aggressive so i wouldn't do that i would go straight for the nitromors if it was me

  12. what about a tracked dumper with a power pack on it
  13. it aint that easy to change the gearing on a final drive to a different ratio also be very cautious about increasing the flow from a swash pump this seriously reduces their lifespan best to leave alone

  20. haha we used to go thru £140 a day at the track days at knock hill 3mpg springs to mind in a car that weighed 650 kgs
  21. i had a 4.6 hse engine in my kit car it ran throttle bodies and programmable efi chucked out 330hp when i was finished with it loved petrol as well there were problems with the castings on the block they suffered from core slip when they were getting cast and you ended up with an offset hole that when it was machined it was thin on one side and cracked then the liner slipped and it gave the same symptoms as a head gasket this coupled with land rovers crappy hoses caused the demise of many engines the giveaway is usually a misfire on start up as the spark plugs get wet from coolant leakage into the bore apart from that they were pretty reliable from memory a lot were changed under warranty
  22. i have repaired the main shaft on ours twice the second time it got a bit of a redesign as the speed sensor pickup wasn't required and this was the root of all the trouble the bearing fit from standard wasn't particularly good either
