  1. we use echo and i rate it quite high so much so we bought another one when i snapped the old one in half
  2. our 3cx had a fixed grab and it worked well with the extra dig the good thing was you could change the angle of the grab by extending in or out
  3. i served my time on these they are the best ones ever produced simple to fix and very productive machine not stifled with emissions crap the new ones are as flat as a fart and burn more diesel
  4. the guys probably a manager now
  5. remember to keep the handbrake disc flange tight on the back off the transmission
  6. is it air powered or a ratchet multiplier don't bother with the ones that aren't as the old ones you lock with a spanner are a sure way to loose your teeth
  7. if you were a plumber would you have thought any different they turn up with a shifter and a screwdriver and charge more than we do and don't have 30-40k worth of gear
  8. try it you should have most of the parts there already it is worth a go i didn't realise it was a single acting spring return ram you may have to play with spring tension/needle valve to get good results but i can see it working
  9. pay him for what he's done and find someone else
  10. sometimes the pointer sways in our favour look at it another way would she have paid you extra if it had ran into 2 days
  11. the problem comes from working the ram and the motor in parallel until you either limit the pressure reaching the ram or separate it from the motor pressure you are wasting your time in my opinion .how much pressure can the motor take and what is the relief valve set to also how much slop is in the linkage it may help to reduce this to stop it from pulling itself further into the log
  12. i don't think they have more power just proper control of what they do have
  13. a sequence valve might be able to be used to do this speak to the bloke at flow tech he should be able to come up with something that will limit the pressure
  14. thats the wrong valve for your application you should be able to slow the flow to almost nothing but in the opposite direction and have no restriction for raising up the bar i think they are correct by separating the 2 functions as the load increases the hydraulic pressure will increase on the ram which will put more load on the motor which in turn will increase load on the ram etc etc the other way to do it would be fit a pressure limiting valve on the down stroke to limit the load on the ram which will stop the motor from stalling
  15. there about £20 on ebay have a look at flow fit
  16. stick a pressure gauge on it save the guess work
  17. 281407145263 is the item number from flowtech on ebay you need to fit this on the piston side of the ram so that when you pull the ram up it can still do this fast the only restriction should be on the downward stoke and you should separate the return from the motor to tank from the lift side of the bar ram what size is the ram on the bar just out of curiosity
  18. i think you need to fit a variable restrictor on the downward side of the ram and and adjust it so that the ram operates smoother also check that the return from the motor is free to tank and large enough you might get away with combining the case drain into this line as your motor is only travelling one direction take the bar oiler of the line and fit an orifice into the line and tap it into the return side of the motor that should provide enough flow for your bar make sure that your ram isn't bypassing as well your 70l/min at 2000 psi equates to about 16hp at the motor excluding losses so there should be plenty of power as long as there is no other leakage in the system
  19. I've found that our grinder is great at finding cables we are available pm me:lol:
  20. what size are the bolts that torque seems awfully high for blade bolts they must be a large diameter or high strength bolts
  21. one from last week broken swing gear on liebherr excavator so glad this wasn't our excavator teeth were stuck into the slew ring
  22. cats are pricks i got a callout from spca and as others have said the cat just climbed higher and higher until it got onto a pretty rotten branch i thought i will cut the it just enough to hinge the branch down and it will jump to safety wrong the branch snapped off clean crashing thru the canopy of 3 other smaller trees and the cat still survived a fall from about 50-60ft they are the work of the devil next time its the air cannon and a throwbag
