  1. We had a similar situation last year. Item had been withdrawn off ebay, seller wanted us to pay via ebay payment protection scheme to a third party. When I rang ebay there were as much use as the proverbial chocolate fire guard! Google research and feedback from members on here told me not to do it and there were right!! If you really want it, go and see it.
  2. I find posts like this quite annoying. You have obviously spent a lot of money on the stove, installation, etc so what makes you think you should be able to get the fuel for free??? You would not install a new gas central heating system and ask British Gas for free gas would you? Any reputable woodfuel seller has probably bought timber in, seasoned it, processed it and delivered it so it aint going to be free or cheap.
  3. A friend of mine bought a new concrete pecker for his 360 and decided to try it out on my oversize stuff, prob 20 inch diameter, and it split them no problem.
  4. As above. I've just paid £8 per ton
  5. FORD RANGER TIPPER SINGLE CAB | eBay Might be of interest to you
  6. If its for your own use why not just hire some one in. There's a guy on ebay reckons he can do 4-5 tons an hour with a Japa. Be a darn site cheaper than buying one.
  7. Join the club Steve! My mate sold it to the guy at Carlisle you bought it off, about 18 months ago and we have missed it ever since. Even got a forestry job we are trying to gain that it would be ideal for!!!

Now don't you think Land Rover should have built this years ago????????
  9. £100 would be about right
  10. And what do you actually do with the end product???
  11. Have always wanted to raise a few pigs - not a big fan of pork but love sausages, ham, bacon, salami, etc and think it would be fantastic knowing exactly where it came from.
  12. A guy on the radio said the only risk to humans would be if you ate 600 pure horse meat burgers in a day and even then the risk was very low. I would say non existent as I don't think anyone could eat 600 burgers in a day. And live!!! I did hear a while ago Asda had been done for refreezing meat getting close to its sell by date and then putting it back out on the shelves.
  13. Yard of mixed hardwood timber and burr elm - ideal for firewood and wood-turning - buyer collects in East Lothian | Other Household Goods for Sale | Gumtree.com All short pieces, probably arb waste, no good for collection by timber wagon or for processor
  14. I have a 2007 Ford Ranger on 235 75 15 Michelin LTX AT tyres. They have done 56,000 miles but the front left one has worn on the outer edge due to the tracking being out. The spare is brand new. My friend who is a tyre fitter has advised me to buy one new one and put this on the back with the spare and move the rear tyres to the front - and then obviously sort the tracking out. Problem - Michelin do not make the tyre any more, which is a shame as they are a good pattern, quiet, perform well and last. I did find two new ones on ebay but they would have been £200 delivered and I was thinking should I spend 200 squid on tyres I cannot replace in the future if there are further problems. I have always been a fan of BFGs and can get all terrains for £115 each or General Grabber AT2s for £87 (whilst I like these I do wonder how they would affect the mpg??). So options are: 1. put the spare on rear axle and move that tyre to front, replacing the worn one. Cost - nothing 2. replace all four with Generals (expect 30,000 miles apparently) or BFGs (unwearoutable!!) 3. try and find a new Michelin or a good part one - anybody got one???
  15. Cracking truck and like the way you load the Fordson:thumbup:
  16. Dave, are the logs packed in touching each other or is there a gap between the rows - does it really matter how you stack them???
  17. Hi Mat - Re the picture of the white Discovery in the muddy water - I hope that is the lane itself. Just it looks from the photo that the Disco behind is on the lane and about to drive along the ruts behind the stuck Discovery. It looks as though people in the past have turned off the designated track to go through the water.

  22. The title of the thread reminded me of my previous life as a mortgage advisor. Typically when interviewing taxi drivers or takeaway owners, when I asked to see their accounts, they would ask which ones? The real ones or the Inalnd Revenue ones!!!
  23. Here's a post with him on Darren, you could send him a PM http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/firewood-forum/50258-greenman-firewood.html
  24. Is the £2k spend going to make you any extra money Ben? Any money I spend in the business I ask myself will it make me any extra money???
  25. I don't think you will be able to gain funding for CS30 and 31 as I would've thought they would be classed as mandatory training for anyone handling a chainsaw in employment. If training is mandatory you will not get funding towards it. I know this from another sector I work in and our regional RDPE also stated this recently. I think it is a fairly new change as I get funding towards 30 and 31 in 2010. Good luck with your plans.
