  1. Just continuing the Land Cruiser love theme
  2. Been a nice day in Newcastle apart from the wind. However, rain is predicted from 6am in the morning until late Wednesday night - it would be when I had a new gardening job lined up!!
  3. Yeah, it's an awesome looking truck. I would like it even without the camper, just a hard top over the rear;really smart. I have not seen any pics of the inside though.
  4. This has to be one of the smartest camper conversions around.
  5. Not surprised it was demanding if you had to drive it upside down!!!
  6. Any body with a Ranger fittef the General grabber AT2 and noticed any change in mpg?
  7. Did you go for the Generals?? blackcircles have them but not in your size. They do 235/75/15 which is the size on my Ranger. I am interested in fitting the AT2s but concerned about drop in fuel economy / R Tyres Search Results ? Low Tyre Prices | Blackcircles.com
  8. It does sound as thought she is asking for a lot for not a lot of input. Whilst I would have thought valuers would base their figures on your past years performances I am sure they would make some adjustment/comment on the downturn in your current years figures. Probably not what you want to be thinking about but if you've got wife and two kids have you reviewed your life and income protection recently?
  9. As per title, I am looking for hardwood cord, 26 ton artic loads delivered to Consett in County Durham.
  10. I worked for Barclays for 23 years before being made redundant and now I am self employed I bank with....................Barclays! They have more branches in locations that I visit regularly than other banks, online banking is great and as my personal accounts are with them as well it simplifies my transactions. And as for: Tony Croft aka hamadryad Re: Business Banking: NatWest vs Barclays ??? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- They are both banks, run by bankers, they dont do you ANY favours! Correct! Banks are businesses just like yours believe it or not, so no, they won't do you any favours but there again I have not come across any businesses that do do favours.
  11. Sorry to hear your news, such a shame for such a lovely dog to go so soon. I'm sure she will be chasing pheasants in heaven.
  12. And bought what?? Pictures??
  13. Might be of use to some one igland county tractor forestry timber double drum winch | eBay
  14. It certainly does Jon. Pulled the 4610 and muck spreader out backwards with out any problems. Apparantly it tows the Vreten 10 ton log trailer fully loaded as if it wasn't there. Proper job!!
  15. My friend and I were having a look at some trees that had come down on their farm. Some of the branches were rotten and had obvioulsy been eaten by something but we were intrigued by the two holes on the branch in the picture. They are about one and a half inches across and go in to the wood a couple of inches. You would think they had been drilled out, must be a woodpecker with an auger for a beak!!
  16. My friends dad went out to do some muck spreading and ended up bogged down in the corner of the field. Now my friend states the corner of the field had been a bog too wet to walk on for about............30 to 40 years!!! So why his dad decided to drive into it we don't know; his excuse was, "The bog's moved!" Fortunately, it did not take too much to recover it.
  17. Used to be a guy displayed at Top Farm with a Gypsey with ptos that ran saw benches and splitters - was rather impressive.
  18. Wow, something in the north! Thanks for the heads up about the forestry show. Looked at Elmia but not easy to get to and not cheap either!!
  19. Whilst the first part of your post is correct Rupe, the second is not. PPI never had anything to do with PAYE (and if it did no one would have got paid if it was left to the Inland Revenue!). If a customer was employed they contacted the insurance company who issued a claim form. This would be completed by the persons employer and doctor for sickness or DSS for unemployment. In the case of the self employed it would be completed by their doctor and accountant. Payment would then be made to refund the customer the amount of the loan payment and a continuation form issued for each month the customer was claiming for. No involvement with PAYE whatsoever. I know self employed customers I sold PPI to who did make successful claims and actually came back to thank me for explaining about the protection at the time.
  20. Might know somebody who would be interested in the pto bits if you want to part with them.
  21. Have a look at this previous thread http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/large-equipment/19678-winch-fit-discovery-3-a.html

  23. Well, all I can say CSS is at Barclays self employed were covered, had claimed and were successful in receiving payouts. It certainly was not illegal to sell ppi to self employed.
  24. Bought a pair of Grafters last year - laces snapped after a few months, insoles lifted after about 7 months and then got a split in the heal right through to the other side which let water in. Went for a replacement pair of boots in March;unfortunately only Grafters felt comfortable so for £35 went for another pair. Have replaced the laces (with a pair from Jack Wolfskin trainers I wore for nearly six years and then put in the previous pair of Grafters) already and now the insoles are lifting out again. I will not be buying another pair.
  25. As I used to work for a high street bank I can tell you self employed are covered as ppi covers you for death - and self employed do die: - sickness - self employed do fall ill. Where a lot of self employed come undone is that there claims had to be backed up by their accountant and from my experience a lot of self employed put very little through their accounts so the accountant could not verify much!! But self employed are covered. I'm not saying ppi has not been mis-sold but I think a lot of people have mis-claimed refunds as even those that claimed on their insurance and had a payout are claiming mis-selling and getting money back! How was it mis-sold if it paid out during the term of the loan??!!
