  3. This was Saturday Jon near Shotley Bridge. 4 deliveries completed - 2 local to yard and 2 to Newcastle. Was pleased I had four wheel drive.
  4. Could be useful?? NISSAN D22 NAVARA PICK UP AIRCON 2.5TD 2000 X REG ALLOY DROPSIDE BODY | eBay
  5. We feed all year round - couple of nut feeders and a fat ball one. Important to keep them topped up this time of year as the birds may have expended a lot of energy to get to the feeder.
  6. There's two rules to follow when buying a Freelander 1: firstly, never ever buy a petrol one; secondly, always obey the first rule! I had a TD4 version and it was a fantastic vehicle.
  7. Sure you hadn't just forgot to put the legs down Mark???:001_tt2:
  8. I would certainly recomend having a look at ETA boilers - Austrian, expensive but superb quality. A client of mine has recently installed one and is over the moon with it.

    L200 advice

I read The Telegraph on a Saturday and Honest John always recommends higher mileage over lower mileage. However, if the cars got FSH, is what you want and at a good price then go for it. I bought a 2007 Ranger with 27000 miles and FSH in June 2011 and its never missed a beat (I'm touching the wooden desk as I write!!).
  10. How about this one Jon???? http://www.johnlewis.com/231443663/Product.aspx?s_kwcid=ppc_pla&tmad=c&tmcampid=73&pup_ptid={adwords_producttargetid}&pup_kw={keyword}&pup_c={adtype}
  11. Any body fancies a great night out I can thoroughly recommend the Classic Rock Show - two and a half hours of music from the top ten classic albums of all time. And the guitarist Howie G is my nephew! The Classic Rock Show | Tour Dates
  12. Thank you. We were set to go for the Kesla trailer but saw this at the APF - it appears to be more heavy duty than the Kesla and the crane has greater lift and reach. Plus the dealer is only 30 mins away from us. The extension is not hydraulic - you undo four bolts on the side of the frame and the two on the top plate and pull forwards. It's only been pushed back in once and my mate still won't tell me how he did it - I think the loading shovel came in to play somewhere!!!
  13. Just booked flights on Sunday to go and see relatives on Vancouver Island in June. Going for three weeks and want to do and see as much as possible as it is 14 years since my wife and I last went. I'll be sure to go to work with my cousin one day - he's a logging truck driver!!
  14. Looks a job well done, you should be proud of that and for keeping a traditional skill going. Wouldn't mind giving it a go myself sometime.
  15. Have had two quacking days (yes, there was duck invovled) on a local shoot - got driven around, great food and hospitality and good company. Very good value and the guy who runs it is a diamond geezer - oh thats you Darren isn't it???
  16. Well done to Steve for all the hardwork in organising the Gareth Dalzell raffle:001_smile::001_smile: Excellent amount of money raised for the Childrens Trust which is great, especially in the present economic climate. I see I have won a sawpod - I would be excited if I knew what one was:thumbup:
  17. One thing always puzzled me - my Kelly has a cork on a chain and the instructions say do not boil with cork in place (even though it has a hole in). So what's the difference to having a whistle on???
  18. Thats the trailer fully extended, you can slide it back together to shorten it (as in the photo below). Yep,he was standing on the drawbar but luckily jumped when he felt it going over. Trouble is,standing on the ground operating it it is difficult to see where you are placing the timber.
  19. Had mine for about 12 years and only used it a few times until Nov 2011 when I started firewood production. Its now on a few times a day and a cuppa from that is so much better than from a flask. The base is getting pretty beat up now - could only be from the heat as its kept in a Wolf box.
  20. Thanks for the comments guys. James - calm down there lad!! Silky - I think he can chip four wagon loads, so about 100 ton, in about half a day - thats if theres no breakdowns!! Gray Git - no, chipper belongs to Park End of Wark in Northumberland Josy - Its up at Consett My wife thought the trailer was from Ikea!!!
  21. You may recall the pics I put up before Christmas of the two artics cab to cab unloading at my friends yards - well this was a few days later when the chipper came in to make biomass grade chip. The trailer is our new Vreten which has been used a few times now for moving timber around the site and to another site. My mate managed to tip it over the second time he used it as he had forgot to put the legs down!!! We think the crane is probably too big for the trailer, they seem a bit mismatched but we will have to live with it. It just gets two 3m bays of timber on but they have to be right up against the head board and each other and there is about a 3ft overhang.
  22. Just paid £48 for 25 litres of Husqvarna saw oil, apparantly its all due to increase in price again fairly soon.
  23. I have read about this and saw them on the "Tales from the Wild Wood" series where they claimed the moisture content was 1%. My thoughts are: is it possible to get wood that low? How long would it stay that low once delivered to a customers shed/garage/etc? How much can you charge for it as it has to be a premium product? I deliver to customers who have tried kiln dried logs at a guaranteed less than 20% and they don't like it - burns too fast and is too expensive. So I would be dubious as to its market potential.
  24. My mates dad has two Suffolk Punches and he reckons I should ditch the Palax for one of these!! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFeR8Qlkrfg]Draft Horse Powered Treadmill woodsplitter 014.AVI - YouTube[/ame]
  25. If you're using the vehicle for work, how can it be ag registered as to comply with the regulations, you will have to meet the following criteria: "Vehicles used just for agriculture, horticulture and forestry This includes tractors, agricultural engines and light agricultural vehicles used off-road. It also includes ‘limited use’ vehicles used for short journeys (not more than 1.5 kilometres) on the public road between land that’s occupied by the same person." This is from the Gov.uk web site. So I read that as you could only operate that vehicle on the road within 1.5km of your base and only to go to land owned by you. Or am I missing something???
