  1. Was at a collective auction at Hexham yesterday and a local company has put in a lot of their forestry and landscaping equipment. I saw the following lots go under the hammer: Husqvarna strimmer £250 Husqvarna 385 £380 Husqvarna 575 £320 Husqvarna 365 £310 Husqvarna 357 £240 Husqvarna 338 £200 Stihl MS200 £220 Echo pole saw £200 All plus vat plus 5% buyers commission
  2. Was a Botex crane on an adapted trailer by the look of it
  3. Nice trucks, especially the DAF but will the load capacity not just be a couple of ton?
  4. Same as everything else - different people will have different opinions. My mate has had two over the years and swears by them. Even had a Unimog and a Fastrac on demo in the same week and he felt the Fastrac was far better. Suppose a lot of it depends on what you plan to do with it. Good luck with whatever you decided.
  5. Client of mine had same problem and after the installer visiting a few times, discussions with the shop where she bought it and even with the manufacturers, turns out she had two air vents in the room - thought she only had one so had closed this but didn't realise there was a second hidden by furniture where the heat was escaping through.
  6. Yeah,it's a beaut Jon. It doesn't do a lot of work at all but we may have more work for the trailer coming up so Ian's thinking of going back to a Fastrac...but he just cannot bring himself to get rid of the TW - I think it's the size, classic styling and sheer grunt that its got that is the magnetism. Have a good weekend Jon.
  7. Had my first drive of my mates TW20 this week. Its a big brute with a tiny steering wheel but very precise steering. Loved it!
  8. I agree with all these comments and thank you for the support. I'll certainly not be chasing him re a delivery. The more I thought about it today, he has been a right royal pain dans le derriere - complained of a short load once, went to collect the money once only for him to say I'v just spent it on parts for the Land Rover I'm working on and similar on another occasion it took 4 visits to get the cash off him!! He can go cold or go elsewhere!
  9. Cheers guys, my thoughts exactly. He can go to the back of the queue whilst I serve 13 grateful repeat customers.
  10. I've just bought a MS362 off an arbtalk member....ringing up large diameter stuff that is too big for the processor was very tedious with my MS260 but the 362 zips through them.
  11. Been supplying a mate with logs for 18 months now.. I usually deliver them to his house, stack them in his log store and shed and charge him a bit less than my normal price. Get a text this afternoon "I'm logless, any chance of some more but can I have some that burn this time. That last load was crap. It wouldn't stay alight unless the air regulator was wide open." I replied asking what was wrong with having the regulator open (doesn't fire need oxygen?) and he replied "The clue is in the name.!" So I told him the only supplier I knew of with much drier stuff was providing kiln dried and its 50 quid more than mine...and if he wants a delivery he is no. 14 on the list. Silence!!! They were obviously so bad he used them all and wants more! He complained last year that three year seasoned oak I supplied him was dripping wet, you could see the water running out of it...what did he do? Apparently chucked it in the stream by his house...but he didn't come back for more until 4 weeks after I delivered..so what did he burn in the meantime?
  12. I keep thinking of advertising mine as organic!
  13. I work one day a week for my uncle organising training courses for commercial fishermen - first aid, sea survival, engineering, navigation, etc - and I would implore anybody going out on a boat to always wear a life jacket and to do some basic training such as a sea survival course: it's only one day and £120 and could save your life. I know one instructor we use used to be a fisherman and says he wouldn't be hear today but for a simple thing as a rope hanging over the side of the trawler - he went overboard and was only able to get back on board because of the rope. Here endeth the lesson.
  14. Really pleased to hear your good luck after reading earlier threads. If you chip it I presume it will be for power station use? Otherwise it will be too wet for most domestic/commercial boilers and I've head poplar takes a long time to dry out. A firewood guy I know couldn't even dry it in his kiln. Good luck, look after the pennies and keep safe.
  15. 9 orders placed in last two days - I'm now cutting in to the stock I was hoping not to touch until September.
  16. I thought you said that was a new duck pond you'd built Darren!!!!
  17. Yes, attended a meeting recently and one of the topics discussed was the new accreditation scheme now HETAS is no more. Apparently any one installing a biomass system that qualifies for RHI will only be able to buy their fuel from a supplier on the approved supplier list to guarantee their RHI payments. It is designed to prove sustainability of the wood used as fuel we were told.
  18. I would send a letter of complaint to them outlining the course of events, request them to explain their actions and if a refund is not received you will take the matter further.
  19. Got it sorted today in around 2 hours - drove into NTS, up on the ramps, my friend took the prop off, gave me his car keys and off I went to CPS Drivelink on the Team Valley, handed in the propshaft, 15 minutes later new UJ was installed and others greased, back in the car, pull into NTS, up on the ramps, prop back on in a couple of minutes. Jobs a good'un!
  20. Would this not do the trick??? Wedge | Clas Ohlson
  21. A UJ on the rear prop of my 2007 Ford Ranger needs replacing. Does any one know if I took the rear prop off, could I still drive it??? I remember doing this with a Defender but that was permanent four wheel drive.
  22. Its £215 for 12 months
  23. From somebody who used to work in a high street bank, I would echo the above. Once you have a credit card, use it every month and then pay it off in full before the due date. It builds up a bit of good history and any subsequent lender should take it in to consideration. Good luck with your new venture, I wish you well.
  24. Always used softwood, its straighter so stands better and lights easier.
  25. I'm busy watching season 4 of Axmen on DVD now. A few new characters but pretty similar to previous series, just cannot help watching it. Glad they put subtitles on for the swamp man!!
