  1. This is my uncle's cousins pick up - a GMC Sierra Denali, top of the range. It has a Duramax 6.6 litre V8 diesel engine pushing out 397hp and 765lb ft torque mated to an Allision six speed automatic transmission. It has an exhaust brake, seats 6 in very plush, luxurious accommodation and a maximum towing capacity of 23,000lb (about 10.5 metric tonnes!). It was, as the Canadians say, "Awesome". My wife at only 5ft 1.75inches was dwarfed by it. But the owners wife at only 4ft 11 drives it no problem. It has a fifth wheel in the bed for towing their RV.
  2. Only read the first few posts on this thread as been away on holiday, would an American pick up not be suitable? This is my uncle's cousins in Vancouver Island, a GMC Donali 6.6 litre diesel with exhaust brake and fifth wheel in the bed for towing 35 foot, 9 ton RV trailer.
  3. Enjoyed the show, even my wife did! Sat behind the food vans having some lunch and there were three blokes sitting a few feet away from us. I thought I recognised the voice of one of them but he had a big beard. After a while plucked up the courage and asked if he was Andy Porter - thankfully it was! We used to be in the North East Rover Owners club but I have not seen him in 12 years!! Small world!!!!
  4. I think it's the first time it has been staged. I'm planning on going as there is not a lot of relevant events held in the north.
  5. I bought a second hand 2011 model and it has been fine. As above, there are many refernces to the 362 on here and like everything else, you will find half the people love it and half have had nothing but bother.
  6. A friend of mine has been trying to get me to buy a Lister with pto drive to power my processor but I'm not convinced.
  7. I'll have to watch out for you in Newcastle and make sure you don't drive over the top of my Ranger in your Tonka truck!! My mate got a tool box from Northern Tool for his truck and it is rather corroded after 18 months and the latch no longer works properly.
  8. Binderberger quality looked really good but price for a ten ton unit was £24k. Have a look at Vreten, crane is impressive, probably too big for the trailer we have but there is nothing it has not lifted yet.
  9. Auction at Rothbury next Saturday Steph, Thrum Mill selling all their kit due to change in business direction.
  10. You say cubic yards - do you mean metres? Either way I would say way too cheap. At least £150.
  11. 3 70/71 Range Rovers! If you look at my earlier post from a week ago with the pictures of the L reg Range Rover, I was telling my mate about it and the fact the owner had taken the original plastic seats out 15 years ago to put velour in. My mate had a full set of new plastic vinyl seats that they had for years and could not sell so put them in a skip about ten years ago. I bet they are like rocking horse poop to get now!!!
  12. The cab on the red one looks very much like a Jeep - they made a pick up and a wagon with this style of cab
  13. I'm after a Michelin LTX A/T 235 75 R15 109S, as new as possible please
  14. Saw these beauties in the car park at an auction on Saturday. The Range Rover had a nice well worn patina - as well as holes in the bodywork, perished window seals and seats that were hanging in bits. Apparently the only replaced the original vinyl ones with these velour ones 15 years ago. He had converted it to run solely on LPG though.
  15. Not my tractor but a Roadless that was in a collective auction at Hexham on Saturday. It looked a bit rough and in need of quite a lot of tlc to say the least. Bidding stopped at £4400 and it went unsold.
  16. Thats correct. I went vat registered for the reasons stated but do gardening work in the summer which I have to charge 20% on
  17. "They do if you don't tell them, I know of one disco that had a 300tdi in it (I fitted it) as a replacement for a 200 that ran on its own oil, the owner never thought to inform the insurer and when it got in a smash the loss adjuster wasn't at all happy, any excuse not to pay out." Not really an excuse not to pay out when they were insuring a 200TDi Discovery and it wasn't! The way I always look at insurance is how did the vehicle leave the factory. What's the point of paying insurance if you are not going to declare everything because you'll be the first to complain when they don't pay out. I have this argument every year with my best mate who has a 1985 110 hi cap listed on the log book as a 2.25 diesel - its got a 200TDi fitted, 235 85 16 mud terrains, power steering and metallic paint job!! definitely not as it left the factory.

  24. I'm with Pat on this one. Whilst I sympathise with Spruce for his loss, why would you leave such expensive equipment in such an insecure vehicle overnight?? This was totally avoidable.
