  1. Been using Kaspersky for last two years as it was free via Barclays but now expired. Been looking at Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 and Norton Internet Security 2013. Kaspersky will be similar to what I have had and has good features like virtual keyboard and safe money but gets quite a lot of bad reviews for slowing computer down big style. Norton reviews seem okay but don't think it's got virtual keyboard or safe money features. Any feedback on either system???:confused1
  2. Well, diagnostic check showed no error codes. Changed the fuel filter this morning for a genuine Ford item (£30.02 plus vat!!) and when the old filter which had only been fitted in June was removed, it was obvious they had neglected to fit the rubber seal on the bottom by the water trap. Could have been a source of the air leak. Took some bleeding but now starts better than ever. Fingers crossed for the future!!
  3. Thanks for the replies lads. I guess it's different for different processors and different tractors. We use a Ford 4610 and at 1300 revs it only uses a gallon of diesel a day. It does some times make the saw stop in tougher or thick wood and the ram seems slow. I suppose at those times we could knock the revs up and then bring back down when on smaller stuff.
  4. We usually run the tractor at about 1300rpm when running my Palax KS35 Ergo but the ram travels rather slow. Pumped it up to 1700rpm when cutting some larger pieces last week and seemed to operate faster but obviously tractor a lot noisier (and it's not my tractor!!). Who else runs a Palax KS35 and what rpm do you usually run your tractor at?
  5. I was thinking off replacing the fuel filter but it was only changed in June when serviced so wouldn't have thought that should be at fault; worth a look though.
  6. Well, my great 2007 Ford Ranger that has been super reliable for over 2 years has started misbehaving. A few weeks ago I was parked on a very steep road and when I got back in the truck it would not start. You would have thought it was out of fuel and then after turning it over for ten times it started. The following week it did the same, again I had been driving, pulled up and 15 minutes later went to start it and it was turning over fine but would not start. Eventually, it did. This morning I started it from cold, it was ticking over and then after a few seconds cut out and performed as above. So this time the engine was called. I have done some research on t'internet and discovered it could be the engine coolant temperature sensor. Anybody any ideas and where is the sensor located?
  7. I would go for a double cab pick up with a canopy over the rear. That way you can carry the kids in the rear seats and have tools. etc in the rear, totally separate. There would also be more room than a Discovery, Pathfinder or 110.
  8. Great pictures. Loving the classic Ford pick up as well:thumbup::thumbup:
  9. Useful looking 110 on ebay - Superwinch, side locker, side hatches 2002 Land Rover Defender LWB 110 TD5 HARD TOP TDCI VERY CLEAN 4X4 | eBay
  10. Its a Bell Aurens Longnose, featured in LRO December 2009. Engine choices are 4.6 or 5.0 litre Rover V8 or double it up for a V16! Prices start from 125,000 Euros and they aim to build 10 a year.
  11. Mine's a Ford Ranger super cab, loose load is approx 1.1 cubic metres and with ten inch logs average load is 340 logs. (I worked in a bank for 23 years and cannot stop counting!!).
  12. Not seen this before!! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OW2UvW6xLP8]Trimming Trees from the Sky - YouTube[/ame]
  13. It's a cross sale, ask everybody who rings you to place an order if they would like some and always carry some on the truck as there have been times when people have said, "Mmm, I should've ordered kindling, did you bring any?"!!!
  14. I have a customer who went for an Eta log boiler and thinks it is fantastic and my friend is in the process of installing one to feed his house, his sisters next door and their parents across the yard. They appear to be superb quality.
  15. PM sent two days ago Dan of Premier Wood
  16. I know a guy who built one and all the bit get collected in dumpy bags underneath and them get netted and sold as organic kindling!!

    super cab

As per above but only the Ranger, Navarra and Isuzu have the opening rear door or suicide door (the Isuzu sales lady at the Lowther Show told me off last week for calling it a suicide door; they call it something like a facility door!!). If you don't carry more than one adult passenger regularly they are very useful, I love my Ranger to bits and have never regretted buying it.
  18. Me too! I deliver a loose pick up load which equates to 1.1 loose cubic metres. When I queried one supplier last year they stated there were roughly 1400 logs in a 2 cubic metre crate. I know I put on average 330 logs in the pickup (don't ask!!) so I was presuming I would get 4 loads out of a crate, but there again it depends on the size of their logs, diameter and length.
  19. Would not have thought it would last a year. I deliver loose 1.1 cubic metre loads and my regulars take about 6 or 7 loads a season - and I wish I got there price for it!! £233 for a bag is ridiculous. I tried buying some stock in from them last November and they only had one crate in the UK!!

Well it was in the car park beside Amble marina when I saw it. Totally agree with you monkey!!

    Ibex

Ibex are a breed of Spanish mountain sheep or goats but the vehicles are constructed in the UK. Initially they were based in Yorkshire but now they are based in Northumberland.

    Ibex

Whats peoples views on the Ibex? Whilst I like all types of 4x4s, especially boxy ugly ones, I cannot see the point in spending a lot of money on an expensive Land Rover and then giving it to Foers and paying then even more money to make it in to, in my eyes, a smaller less versatile vehicle!! I know they are more agile off road with shorter approach and departure angles and have a clever winch but how often are you going to use those attributes?
  25. I remeber an article in one of the Land Rover mags about a company carrying out the conversions and they had to get the new engines from Jaguar as Land Rover will not supply them but the big cost in time and development was in successfully getting the electronics for the engine to work with the rest of the vehicle.
