Hi we have a Rytec 22ton 1.75 metre splitter for splitting back large timber to processor size ,i also have a chain saw and old homemade splitter running off a old dumper engine (very quick cycletime ). If you are working on your own then the saw and splitter are by far the quickest method of reducing timber to logs because using the large splitter on your own you have to keep getting off the tractor to operate the splitter and there is more handling off th timber using the large splitter.

  6. Hi what you need is a reducer to go from 40mm down to 25 mm its like a washer with a lip that sits in the ring hitch to take up the differance in sizes i think mvf sell them. cheers chris
  7. Hi iT will not take you long to get the hang of reversing the trailer useing your mirrors if not you can always fit a front tow bar it is far easier pushing a trailer into a small space than trying to reverse. cheers chris

  9. hi from what i have read if you buy a disco three thats coming up to its first major service (130000 miles ) to replace to cam belt you need to lift the body from the chassis.
  10. Hi I think this is a common problem with the j.d tractor caused by the internal brake disc wearing. Are nabour has had the same problem with 2 of his tractors , he has sold them as it was the cheapest option as to do the job the cab has to be removed so that you can take the trumpets off the tractor (the part that the weal bolts to ) so that you can then get to the brake disc. cheers chris

  12. hi i have a chinese saw sold in this country as The british mower company,this saw is for domestic use, buy i have been using it for commercial firewood sawing for 5 years only problem recoil spring broke and chain and bars as you would get with any other saws.As for spares the importer keeps all spares and they arive next day delivery.   14. Hi Have you considered that you may want to sell your buisiness as a going concern one day and that it will be easier to sell with a company name as opposed to you name so that the new owner can continue trading ,this was advised to me buy my accoutent. cheers chris

  18. Hi liked the video ,just wondered how you stop the logs from going mouldy in your drying shed as when we used this method we had a mould problem as there was not enough air flow. What quanties do you sell yuor logs in as the truck in the video looked to be loaded with two different amounts. cheers chris

Hi Jim we had the same happen in are yard in 2012 . we managed to move the livestock but 2 tractors,firewood processor and landrover in 5 foot of water ,workshop had the same .worked 48 hours non stop to drain all oil /water from machines refill with oils run to temperature and drain and refill again. then carried out cleaning tools and all workshop equipment and drying stuff with hair drier and worksop heaters. All you can do is try and salvage all you can . we have had to replace loads of bearing and braking system on land rover s the main problem is getting the silt out from everywere. hope all goes well. cheers chris

  22. HI it might help if you put location , when you say firewood are you wanting ready to burn logs if so what size logs do you require or are you talking cord wood in 8 or 10 foot lengths if so hard or soft wood ?
  23. hi very sad day, end of another fine product that should have been kept british and not sold to overseas people. Hope its not going to be made to the same standard as the tata crap.
  24. Hi I have an old danarm d110 and dd8f that still get used for cutting big butts , you cant buy new parts but you quite often see saws at sales sutiable for robbing parts. cheers chris
