  2. Hi all I have a customer moving from Devon to ca21 2yl near Egremont cumbria and I am trying to source a good log supplier of hardwood log for him , you will have to deliver with a 4x4 as you have to drive down a track and along the beech to get to his property . thanks chris
  3. Hi yes I wear specs and they do not steam up like when wearing a normal mask they do not come with ear defenders I wear ear plugs .
  4. Hi I have an aircap helmet / mask wear it all the time when processing logs and in this weather you get a cool breeze blowing over your face .

  7. Hi THE l200 has a simple 4wd system hi 2wd hi 4wd low 4wd it also has a button on the dash that operates the diff lock on the rear axle . (only for use in extreme conditions when stuck ) The advantage with the manual front hubs are that you can select 4wd low with the hubs unlocked for shunting trailers or chipper ect on hard surfaces withot damaging the transmission ( transmission windup ) . hope this helps cheers chris
  8. Hi if you want a vehicle that's simple and cheap to repair I would by a pre td5 defender 110 spend some money rebuilding it e.g galvanised chassis , bulkhead , transmission you should then have a vehicle that will run on for years with minimal outlay .

  12. Hi GUYS slightly off topic but what is the best way off getting into arb industry already doing firewood (approx. 200 tone per year ) but would really like to pack in the full time job and go all self employed . thanks in advance chris

Hi we were registered with woodsure but it was a complete waste of time no one has heard of it and all most customers want are good dry logs as for the moisture % woodsure take away logs and do oven tests on them in a lab to calculate the moisture % so that when you get your certificate to show customers it has the % printed on it , you also have to keep records as to the chain of custody for you wood felling licence numbers ect ,ect.
  15. Hi what is a driver cpc and does it make any difference as to what you are towing the trailer with .E.G small 4x4 with gtw below 3.5 tonne

Hi i droped a saw in the river last year took about 2 hours to fish out as i couldent see it ,took spark plug out and removed fuel and oil caps and air filter then put saw onto galvanised shed roof upside down for about a week in the hot weather the tin radiaded heat into saw . re fuiled and new plug and filter started 3 rd pull not had and problems with saw since.

I am looking for quotes from contractors to come and process approx 80 tonnes of processor suitable cord wood all 2.4 lengths ,mainly beech but some ash ,birch and chestnut (no oak ) the wood ranges from10 to 20 inch dia and will need to be processed into 9 inch logs and put into vented bags (bags supplied ), i will be onsite to help with removing bags and keeping infeed table full if you need more info please P.M me .looking at doing this first couple of weeks in august. thanks chris
  18. Hi looks good what sort of money are these machines looking at way of speeding up splittig billets this looks like it could be just the tool.
  19. hi transit or iveco crew cab tipper , you can tow carry loads and passengers and both are nice to drive.
