  8. Hi All does anyone know what quantity of loose logs cut to 8 " long that you will get from a cubic metre of billets , trying to determine if I can store more wood in the shed in billet bundles or cut into logs and stored in vented bags. thanks chris

  14. Hi Elden yes we have some gear forklift ,tractor with rotator and grab , in the middle off making a large 8 foot stroke splitter for splitting back long length billets then cut them in half to get 2x 1metre billets. thanks chris

Hi GUYS I have been asked by a couple of rhi customers with large boilers to supply the above size logs .Do any of you supply log in these sizes and how do you sell them e.g loose load or in billet bundles ,what is the cheapest was of doing billet bundles without investing in loads of expensive equipment. any comments will be greatly appreciated. thanks chris:confused1:

HI all thinking of replacing current tipper truck with transit or similar type pickup with mounted crane for delivering logs to customer in vented bag and tipping out at customers instead of tipping from bags into current tipper truck then tipping again at customers ,trying to reduce handling and .save time. does anyone else use this system and has it saved you much time. your thoughts please thanks chris

Hi I can see that there are advantages with imported wood all you need is a forklift for unloading the lorry and a pickup for delivery as apposed to buying in lorry load off cordwood and needing tractor with loader and timber grab ,processor ,chainsaw for wood that wont fit in the processor , log splitter , nice weather for processing and drying ,and larger area for storing wood as its not stacked as per imported wood in nice square easy stacking wooden crates.
