  1. I use whatever is gonna get the job done quicker. Back in the uk it was always a triple extended ladder 99% of the time if I was at the top of a ladder struggling to throw a rope then a throw line would come out but it was rare that I'd throw it. Here it's mostly always throw a rope or climb up as I said I do whatever is quickest to please the boss
  2. Not good stuff to read Dermot! When will you all get a break there! I don't miss having to deal with stuff such as this just adds a huge amount of crap to the day when your just trying to earn a decent living! Hope your all ok otherwise
  3. I've had an accident in a mewp but never ( touch wood) climbing. I also prefer the climb but use mewp when needed.
  4. this. set up a nz account when you get here think i pay like 6 dollars every 6 months for mine. I looked at transfering monney to the uk from a kiwi account and it was like 25 dollars plus more charges on the uk side plus a bad exchange rate. take your uk card take as much cash as you can out from it at an atm ( charges around 3 pounds) and then deposit it in your kiwi account. where abouts are you heading?
  5. top of the morning dermot. give chris a ring ( coombs should have his number) think he may have access to one could be wrong though. He may know someone who does or get douchey to man up and tell him he has to do it if he wants to be a climber hope your all good

  14. I just don't see why you would tie Into the hook? If I'm doing big lumps of timber off a stick then ill tie in then put a gob in then untie and finish off back cut on my strop line. Was his strop not big enough to go round maybe? As someone said everyone's ok and went home fine Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  21. A cut made diagonally cutting straight through so that the wood falls butt first. Obviously need to be careful of not being hit by the tip ( or at least be prepared to) or not to do to big for reasons such us barber chairs or it turning into a rip cut. but is a good cut in the right circumstances Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
