  1. The only year I've been was the 40th anniversary and was 30 degree heat very single day! Some of the comments on this thread are laughable it's a great festival and I wish I had the monney to go again... Maybe next year Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  2. Think you would be shaking your head at alot of people then mate. Looks like the job got done and presume nothing broken. I've seen worse and done worse as far as rigging goes didn't look a massive tree and certainly doesn't look like anything would of gone wrong Woth the rigging I do think its good to see others point of view and see how they do things and it is good that you put an honest video up of your days work. 9. It would but then why not go to a shop and buy a chain? Surely local people with the kit would still charge you for the chain and the time to make it just as shops do. Also we rarely seem to find time to make our own chains let alone do others. So not sure if it would work I'm afraid... Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  13. It is a charity so has no financial gain the bird on the radio this afternoon said they are sponsored by sainsburys and bt and others to keep the overheads going the monney raised(108 million last year) goes to help folk 60 percent to Africa and 40 here. I can't stand the celebrity bit either but if they raise some monney and someone watches and donates surely that's a good thing? I don't find it funny so I don't wacth it Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  14. Shame it wasn't today mick work was called off but roads where fine here I was scratching around doing nothing Good luck. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  15. That's my point the price of a mewp would surely put more monney on the job for the cost of machine say I did it for 300 pound ( for example) for me groundie truck chipper and you would charge 300 for you groundie truck chipper then you would want a mewp aswell would then send your quote up to ( for example) 600 pound for a mewp aswell. Who would you think the customer going to go for? As you said though if that works for you nice one I'm not judging just trying to help the op win a job. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  16. Don't get me wrong I know mewps are fast and I'm not denying that but why are they needed on these trees? It's just an extra 300? To add on the job and if the op is the same price as the other firm on everything then puts a mewp on who do you think the customer will go for? I do also stand by you could climb these faster than a mewp including time to set it up. Anyway all food for though for op Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  17. I wouldn't use a mewp as its a good way to chuck alot of extra monney on the job needlessly and price yourself out of some work. as the lines will be off anyway you should just be able to spike up strip em down before you even have the mewp set up ready. Keep it simple and earn more monney. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  18. 911 also works in London as an emergency number so I was told on my last first aid think it maybe in other major cities to. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  19. What's wrong with the ad? I think it's a good opportunity for someone to learn some proper cutting skills and work around the country. So he didn't reply to your pm maybe he is out in the woods cutting timber, or busy with other stuff i think if your looking for work on a forum slagging off someone's ad because he didn't reply is a good way to blow getting other work with potential employees on here. Also sense of humour isn't easy to get across when writing on a forum. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
