  1. Certainly one of the best job threads for a while!!! Really good stuff takes alot for someone to not only climb on that job but also organise everything to come together!!! I remember you saying a while ago on here you priced it tight so big question did it all come off? Crane the best ideas you had? Out of interest why didn't you crane the lot? Simply the size and not being able to get a big enough crane in? Bravo!
  2. Good stuff I woke this morning with my usual hangover and read the bbc news app and every story was about depressing stuff so reading something like this is great!!!!!!
  3. best tree climber in the world....
  4. You obviously have to make your own mind up but if you want to advance slightly and buy minimal kit the hicth climber is definatly the way... Cost is 50 quid there abouts with 2 Krabs pulley and cord... And I think you'll find it easier to get used to than anything mechanical as the knots still similar to the prusick....
  5. Good luck damo... Guess what... I'm regretting staying again already!! Haha hope you have a good Xmas and good new year...
  6. As usual people can't handle opinions and take everything personal... Someone's started a decent thread and people have again spoilt it by getting excited about things ! How many more good threads shall suffer from people being utterly stupid! Albedo you may have been climbing 20 years but you talk like some 16 year olds ever heard of never having nothing nice to say don't say it? I didn't post on this forum for a while coz of people like you and threads like this If I was a newcomer why the heck would I wanna get involved in this thread when you have comments like yours? Grow up and enjoy rest of your Christmas!
  7. Does anyone else not think that this isn't a competition where on about ( well I do this to get paid anyway) people can climb on whatever system works for them aslong as the job gets done and everyone's home in one piece with a wage in there sky rocket what's the issue? I'm all for discussing stuff on an open forum but its Just going round in circles if you don't wanna climb with a cambium saver don't and if you do great doesn't make either one slow or rubbish as long as the job is done on time and safe no one should be judging anyone's tree cutting or climbing skills on what they use as a system... Happy Christmas all
  8. Had it with a multi steemed birch that snapped out a trunk, next door neighbour asked why are you doing it its i good health after segueing for a while I said with respect it wasn't your shed it fell on. He then replied with the classic why do you do this job is it for the kicks. I said no everyone has to eat don't they! And started the saw and carried on.
  9. Never get when people say that I value my head of course and I wear a lid but my hat cost 3 times as less and offers same protection. Not saying its not good it's just not for me ill stick to a bog standard hat.
  10. I soaked aload in a bath for few hours ran it through hands run a hicth through rope and seemed to work fine I did try the washing machine trick but seemed to do nothing!
  11. Nice one mate good charity to never know when anyone might need them!
  12. I wouldn't waste the monney on a silky in my experience pole saws and the poles get abbused pulling hangers out , sling on back of the truck wolf garten? The red poles are just as good and alot cheaper I think!
  13. The 201s have a scabbard that clips onto the side case so doesn't fall off. It also has an attachment point at the Nose end so can be sent up with the saw sitting flat. For the record I've never worked out why you would do the last bit as it must just get snagged on everything when pulling up. I've also never had the saw on my belt with scabbard but each to there own an all that!
  14. Make sure you go for a turnout before! For two reasons 1- to make your self lighter 2- your bum will start twitching and you'd wish you did go for one!
  15. I got my provisional liscence through for hgv a the other day I got a leaflet about new changes to liscences does anyone know what B1 is l about? I heard from a good source that they were thinking about down rating the weight on a car liscences but was t sure if this is it??
  16. Good luck mate thought you was moving to Brighton? Unless it was someone else I'm thinking of!
  17. Not to Mention when you slip and impale your self on a stub! I would rather gaff out and smash my face on the trunk than try and unimpale myself!
  18. I just get a groundie to send some mud up for all the nicks and tear cuts!
  19. Usually everyone says " oh really I know a tree surgeon, you boys earn alot of monney don't you?"
  20. I've seen a dog eat a clients 'pet' phesent on a site and the client gave us alt of work. Also different dog ate a pet rabbit in front of clients children! Again another dog was killed on site as a root plate came back up on a Windblow and burried the dog!
  21. Same here! Definatly better with bottom leather strap on!
  22. Glad it wasn't just me after hearing all the hype i thought it was naff. Definatly no enough women init and can't even remember who the bond bird was she was hardly there. More of a film about old Judy. The adverts before where ridiculous and all the product placement was pretty bad.
  23. Can't believe a thread like this has turned into some of you tits digging at each other. Do it on pm coz some of us wanna read the tree work stuff not your little girlie handbag match. It will be a great shame if you lot get this thread taken down as there's some good pics and opinions.
  24. Don't think I've ever seen a mewp in tree work with out two in the basket! It's so much easier you can get double the stuff with our moving cutting and holding is easier and one can cut one can drive I can't believe people would not have 2! And I've never seen a screen between people either.
