  4. We use a Petzl Pro Traxion to tighten and release the line, works a treat, Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  5. On honey bros website it has a list of specs, I think it said width was 750mm but not 100%. Also unsure what a standard gate width is. Bloody good price though IMO for something that could offer that much effeicancy. I'm definitely getting one. http://honeybros.com/Item/Stein_RC4500_Arbor-Trolley Here's the link
  6. We use them here in OZ and they're great trucks. We had the 4x4 models and we could get into and out some pretty sticky situations. Your correct they don't hold much more capacity but they pull it so much better. Oh, and all you need then is to upgrade to a bigger chipeer (12-14 inch) then your set. Happy decision making
  7. How old was the rope? Is your mate still going to climb on it or get a second opinion?
  8. Seriously? If you've got to show it to a forum then you can't have much confidence in it. A picture is no substitute for a professional view. Let the assessor tell you weather it's a pass or fail then act appropriately.
  9. Great work Clive, really like that.
  10. Might be waiting longer than you thought for that timber seventh devil;)
  11. They're worse IMO absolutely atrocious in the wet and when sawdust sticks to them, also don't last long and can be costly to replace 2-3 times a year.
  12. Kinda have to disagree with this. Foot locking is great in the right scenario, all that setting up of srt gear if your not going to use it to work the tree is a waste of time. If you plan on working the tree ddrt and only have a small ascent with no branches, foot lockings perfect. Then get your groundy to pull your climb line and send your system up to you, or if your on a sj, even better, Send it up your self.

  14. We treat elms hear but that's for Elm leaf beetle, DED hasn't made it into Australian waters yet. We treat with stem injection every 3 years.
  15. Truely shocked and touched with your story Sean, sending good vibes for the road ahead. Jake
  16. 6 metres is pretty big, mines only 4. When out on a limb, move your flip line/side strop onto your bridge with your main line and then use it as a second line. When you finished at your work station, stow it back on your side d's so it doesn't get in the way and you can use it with ease at other stations.
  17. Your second tie in point is paramount for a good work position, try and triangulate both ropes for best results. This should give you the balance and steadiness and your feet will work out the rest.
  18. Don't quote me on this but I'm sure people have been tapering the core and stiching the cross over tight. I think the core really needs to be tapered though.
  19. Nah that's okay, I'm enjoying my new sense of power at the moment. Opening the fridge and walking away:biggrin:
  20. Coffee machines are the way of the future................kettles are saaaaaad! I allways wanted a lexi after watching that show
  21. I allways do the sugar solution when planting or transplanting, works great. Can also sometimes bye you some time with a struggling plant whilst you find the cause of the problem, but it's not a long term management plan. I'll give the 30g per 5 litres per sq meter a go Jamie and experiment.
  22. :thumbup1:Sweeeeeeet bro
  23. Not sure on the genus of the tree your referring too but we recently cut down a large Ficus macrophylia (sorry for spelling) and we had to throw away the rope. Eucalypt oil in the washing machine worked okay for trousers but not 100%.
