  1. They are awesomely intricate! Steady hand that👍
  2. This was my favourite job recently, a large Tulip to re-reduce by 1 - 2 metres. It was a great challenge and all done with a silky and secateurs. Great day for it too.
  3. Just adding a few photos as I haven't in a while. Iv recently got some X-rings (as you can tell) and I would highly recommend. My rigging technique is changing and improving with these and I'm surprised how versatile they are.
  4. I used tachyon for my first year on srt and it was ......OK. but I certainly noticed the difference when I went to kern. Still bouncy but I like it through the hitches and now on a runner. It's in the technique, if your smooth, it stays pretty static IMO.
  5. Shoulda got the box o friction rope from treestuff with your order.
  6. Same here to. But take it off when at the top anchor because I'm only going down from there. Store it in my pocket of hi flex trousers. But that's a home made has with soft tenet rope.
  7. About time! Only kidding, enjoy Steve. My only recommendation is to stick with it. You won't like it at first but it will get better with time.Have fun. Ninja style
  8. Hey Taupotreeman. Are you still in N.Z? If so, chemjet stem injection is cheap and lasts approx 3 years and is not needed in conjunction with a spray. Imidacloprid is the active ingredient you need in the insecticide. Also works on borer (if they bore the cambium) and scale. Chemicals purchased from Bayer. I think it was called Merit? But don't hold me to that. Jake.
  9. I got myself a 193 as I'd just started up contracting and took a punt on the in-between saw. I wanted a saw that was light for pruning but big enough for removals so that I didn't have to buy 2 saws. I'm extremely happy with my purchase and it has enough grunt for me. I all ways find myself trying to do to much with a 201 when a rear handled should have been sent up ages ago. As long as the 193 is kept sharp, cutting timber is no problem but a fraction slower. Just send up for a bigger saw when cutting the heavy.
  10. This was the method we used to transplant mature palm trees but with steel wire cable (12mm). Can be quite labour intensive but we didn't do it often enough to get a real system going.
  11. Yeh I love it, don't understand why its free as I'd happily pay a small fee for it. Story goes that a self employed bloke got peed off with spending to much time in the office so made the app. Not in it for financial gain I suppose...........yet.
  12. Not sure really Steve, I I work with a guy who has one and he likes it so I thought id give it a try. Had it for 3 months now and I can take it or leave it for me, not great but equally not bad, something of nothing really. I put it on the splice as I'm still practising and wanted to try and put a thimble on a splice. Next will just be a tight eye on the snap gate.......if I remember
  13. Things were going really well on this used sirius lanyard until I forgot to put the snap hook on before the bury:blushing: worst part is I only realised when I was running it home. Lesson learned (hopefully)
  14. Not really a "free" rope bag at that price is it.
  15. Just "Joist" here's a link. https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/contractor-estimating-invoicing/id592163563?mt=8
  16. Stay away from invoice to go. Check out joist invoice app. Exactly the same as invoice to go but free WITH NO ADVERTISING. It's amazing.
  17. That's a determined man right there, nice work guys.
  18. I climb on Kern and can't help but think it would be a total pig to splice. Did you have much trouble?taper the core at all?
  19. Haaaaaa! That's exactly the same as me, annoyed I couldn't do it. So I made a 3 strand whoopie! I'm not expecting wonders from it tbh but only cost me £4.50:thumbup:
  20. Can't find that function in the manual OMT.
  21. You know I'm not actually sure:confused1: ill look into it. Iv used the stein push to talk radio's before and whilst they were good, had nothing on the SENA. Why'd you want that function any way:confused1: that's one of the best features, not pushing to talk.
  22. Nah OMT they're talk to talk. No need to press anything, they are amazing. Even on crap jobs it can be nice to just.......chat and banter and not feel like your alone. Let alone all the safety pros that come with them. You can also listen to music and take phone calls on them through Bluetooth. Keeping you working whilst doing the office work. Although this might not be to everyone's taste.
  23. Exactly, we went for the convincing ourselves trick. Also having 2 climbers up there was massive for motivation and pushing each other (in a healthy way). I can't rate the SENA headsets highly enough, to have such a clear communication with your whole team (5 of us) was amazingly efficient and everyone knew there role and the site was seamless. Seriously consider the headsets guys.
