  1. Also it advances your system for you you whilst spiking up the tree. (With neck tether or whatever you use)
  2. August, iv noticed you've spent big on gear since your first videos.
  3. We use it when the situation suits, this tree had a 2 metre split in the trunk so we wanted to keep the limbs a stable as possible, thus making cobra not a good choice for this particular tree. Every tree and every situation is different and not one system can be used on all trees. Thanks Jake
  4. Sorry Jon, I'm from Bristol but I'm struggling to understand what your saying bud.
  5. A lesson bought, is a lesson taught I was told by my boss when he took money from one of my team mates. I can see both sides but disagree in charging the whole total.
  6. I used to have a weight lifting belt in the truck for the logs. Never relied on it as such but was just a reminder to keep my back strait when lifting. Now I use an avant for back support
  7. And also trying to remove a stub in the ground:lol:
  8. Ahhh, completely my fault. Went to prune without bedding the teeth in first and the blade skipped down the branch onto my thumb, new blade = embarrassing time for me. Just made me giggle when you said there designed to prune above your head.
  9. Can't get over how smooth the drone footage is, looks great.
  10. Last time I cut a branch above me with my Zubat, I needed paper stitches on my thumb:blushing:
  11. How often do you really get to use the dry rope Paul:001_tt2:
  12. Couple of years for me. Got 3 lines now for different applications like Paul, in the process of getting a new one as my srt line has seen better days
  13. A) Surprised the tool loops broke, never seen that happen before. Can you explain how? B) you can replace the bridge pretty cheap IMO. Mine also only lasted a year but had no doubt that I would replace it, not the harness. Never tried the tree motion so can't comment but iv never felt the need cuz I'm so satisfied with my sequoia. Jake:thumbup1:
  14. Hey Rich, why did you not splice strait to the croll? Jake
  15. That's cuz of his time in Aus Mark, just natural now
  16. Ben, that's a Stella idea. Actually both are great, climbing through/past the fork and setting on the other end of the rope. Cheers Jake
  17. Total respect mate, not much more to say than that. Great job
  18. We use them here for quotes, great to give to the client there and then to discus the quote whilst your there. Also gives you the chance to defend your quote and explain instead of clients having a heart attack when they see the price. We have t and c's on the back of the clients copy, and on the back of our job sheet we have a tick box of any additional gear we may require on that job, client consideration ect. Jake
  19. I consider myself to be abit of gear nut and trying the next new thing but my Petzl sequoia is the only thing I have no desire to replace. It's the older model, granted but would not hesitate to buy the new version if and when it's time. Love it. Jake
  20. Hey Reg, what was the system at the bottom of the speedline. Look like the line was quite high then rope went slack near when branch neared the ground. Was it hand held with a pulley 10ft or so in the tree? Great work and great thinking to pull that off. Jake
  21. Depends if the load needs to be on a controlled decent or just a fast speed line. Bowline to the top or suitable anchor, groundie holds the line. Sling a branch, attach to the speed line and cut. Can be quicker than lowering sometimes, we use this quite often. Other rigs would be hard for me to explain by a post so follow Gray gifts link.
  22. August, you are nuts with a go pro. I love your vids and they entertain me every time.
  23. Hey guys, just bought a small Samson splicing kit and wondered if a 12mm fid can splice a 14mm line. Apart from fid length differences can you see any problems? Cheers Jake
