  1. Just ordered some. Will order some more over the coming days to break up the ticket numbers!
  2. So I'm looking to all sorts. But can't decide where to start. Melbourne or Brisbane? Or even Perth?
  3. For those of you wondering what it's like to be married... I just found out this morning I'm on day 3 of an argument I didn't know I was having.
  4. I think I could do one with 4 rolls off a backpack blower.
  5. I'm surprised they haven't took it back!
  6. My zermatts are awesome. Super comfy. Toes cool down if stood around. Get walking and they are warm again in a minute. Never had that with boots before! The super bright red has dulled slightly. Loads of grip and comfy all day.
  7. Well, I don't think the Aussie arbs would enjoy a cuddle as much as the mrs! A question that came up today. What about insurance? I would have travel insurance but it doesn't cover manual labour. But does cover waitressing (have to get my pinny out!) and other general work. Does the employers insurance cover me when I'm working? I'd be signing up to Medicare while there too.
  8. We have used and abused some husky 321e saws. Not the most powerful but work. Can get 12 or 14" bars on them.
  9. I'm after some seasoned wood. Doesn't have to be split. We are down to a few bags and half a cage of dry stuff. Anything else i have dry is pop willow and conifer! Can pick up if close. Hardwood is preferred but if its soft and dry ill take that too.
  10. Where's he going with that? China?
  11. i have a friend in perth who i may end up visiting, cheapest flights we could get were september time and its an ideal time, just after winter! ive wanted to go for a while, but not had the time or resources to be able to. another question that came to me today, what about kit, take my own? buy some over there? what happens with border control for things like wood particles and stuff like that? i am aware they are touchy with things like saws but what about climbing gear?
  12. That's great. Are you in Melbourne? I'm open minded for work. Is there much for a 2nd climber level? I plan to get as much in before then to really speed up. Really looking forward to going. Found some good deals on flights that's why it's September plus the girlfriend has to finish uni and get some cash together. Can't wait!
  13. It's not that bad! It does make a big difference though especially with the big bars
  14. I'm planning to take a working holiday to Australia next September. Exact location not sure but aiming around Melbourne as i know people there. I've just got a couple of questions What's the best way to get work out there? I've seen positions advertised here but most require heavy truck licenses. How are job prospects? Is there plenty out there? The working visa requires I can only work for an employer for a max of 6 months. Does this put potential employers off?
  15. Me Nd RobArb will arrange a day to come down and have a play. Seems a very promising piece of kit
  16. They will. I sent two with them at the start of the year.
  17. You know I'm here Pete if you want bits
  18. Seeing as we grow tens of thousands. We usually get a real one! Fraser fir is a firm favourite. Strong citrus smell and not as wide as a nordman so doesn't take up as much room.
  19. I've been using windows 8 on the desktop. You get the screen with tiles and half of them don't work. The rest is just windows 7. It took them years to design a screen??!!
  20. I reckon you could sell that on eBay. 'Was running great when I last used it. I think it needs new fuel or something' Glad it's just a saw that got dented and not a person!
  21. Shame that Swinny. Would be good to get you down here again. Pm box cleared. Will check emails now! Sorry.
  22. I am in need of a guy with climbing tickets and felling tickets for a few weeks work starting next week. Need a half day induction on Monday with work starting Tuesday. Site clearance. Lots of small stuff with the odd tricky fell that needs some climbing. Fairly straight forward. Contact me on 07841128366 or Paul on 07831 269128 Cheers
  23. Ill be interested in having a hang on one too so sign me up for a Little trial!
  24. Fistulina is a slow brown heart rot of the native British oaks and also affects sweet chestnut in a similar way. It is a co-evolutionary fungus that lives in symbiosis with these trees into their mature lives and aids the tree in reaching veteran status. The decay is slow and thus the oak can adapt to it over its lifespan, achieving a stout hollow oak as its ultimate form for old age. Have you identified any other causes for crown die back? Root damage? Other pathogens in the tree restricting vascular flow? Possible works? Not without pics. Even then we can only guide and you need to use your judgement.
  25. I decatted and de-EGRd mine. Decat makes the turbo make a nice whistle! EGR helped a little with pickup at low revs and boost. Mine is a 300tdi. Eventually will be looking at improving breathing I.e air filter and intercooler.
