  1. Give us a shout when you do. We are gonna be cutting that oak and beech up soon!
  2. No ID was given before my post that I can see. And it's a bad quality pic to look at on a little screen so I thought ash! Looked like ash canker to me. Never mind then! Can't get them all right!
  3. Tom, what was the spec? I would not be happy if I left a climber to it and came back to that. It looks like he's got to a limb and thought 'I can only reach this far, I'll just do it here, it's only a sycamore' There's no thought for shape or even how it will react. One or two points done and the rest seems like a lazy or inexperienced climber? I know the verminater is on here and this is not meant for offence but that's how I see it!
  4. Dodging rotten timber manhole, rather chamber, covers, stepping over calcium chloride pipes, trying not to cut through fibre optic and electric cables that are just left wherever the fall off the reel. Made for interesting times. Got 5 days on this. Done two already. Long and hard drag!
  5. Whoops. I see now. My bad!
  6. That doesn't look like bleeding canker to me. It's not bleeding and I don't know it to cause such a rough canker, just cracks the bark and kills the cambium.
  7. If its ash, which it kinda looks like (see twig in picture!) it's Ash Canker (Pseudomonas savastanoi pv. Fraxinii). It's bacterial. Not brilliant for the tree and can cause a weak point but it usually lives with it. I see it a lot on younger trees.
  8. Think the horse DNA in the burgers is bad? Wait till they try and explain the farmer DNA in the lamb rump roast....
  9. I've still got a bit in my teeth from last time
  10. To me, highly fluid active cambium channels is fairly self explanatory. Especially when coupled with a picture. I.e. where the larger roots are coupled with the buttresses and there has been concentrated resources in the adaptation and increasing of these supports due to the decreasing residual wall, which are the most active cambium channels. This is how I see it. 'Good cahnce' means good chance. I see no reason to be patronised over a typing error.
  11. Too many tv girl photos?
  12. agree with that one. completely typical of what I have learnt to expect from this decay. i dont see any BS here, just technically correct information. a pollard is a knee jerk IMO and unnecessary. a reduction to reduce the heavier weight out of the crown to encourage retrenchment and a more optimised tree for its capabilities. I also agree with robarb, there is a good cahcne of F. hepatica in this tree, with the buckle showing on one side, however, it could also be related to the decay at the base.
  13. If you can, build your own. It can work out cheaper and you don't have to pay for the privilege of someone screwing a few bits together. Another computer supplier is http://www.scan.co.uk their 3xs systems are winning awards and their prices are good. They have systems to suit all budgets and any parts you may need.
  14. Stunt fell tastic. Do I get extra points for quantity?
  15. I've seen that van around a while back. That's a bit close to home! Ill keep an eye out
  16. Ditto! Mines great. Perfect balance for personal use with occasional work and can squeeze 7 people in!
  17. Where was the stunt fell?!
  18. I think I've sharted lumps further than that! That was poor!
  19. give John a ring at this place: Land Rover Spares and Jaguar Spares at Total Parts Ltd, Skelmersdale, Lancashire. totalparts.co.uk very helpful guys, will search for parts for you and deliver quick, they are local to me so i collect, but they are regularly shipping parts worldwide.
  20. Have a look at rigid industries. A google search will bring up their site. I'm saving for some duallys to go on my disco. Super bright. A 20" light bar would be smart though!
  21. I'd like to see them too. The stock ones are adequate. Why would LR put one in that's not good enough. As long as the people who designed the sunroofs were kept well away from designing anything under the bonnet I'm happy.
  22. Yeah but that will be a td5 which will be controlled by a computer and will be easier to control different aspects of the engine tuning easier. With the 300s you can't just plug it in press a few buttons and away you go. The VNT kits are £1500+ fitting, decent intercooler another 500, your looking at spending nearly double the value of some vehicles just to make it go a bit faster or respond to your heavy foot quicker. I'm yet to do any major changes to my 300 and will probably just clean out the intercooler instead of spending £300+ on something that will do the same thing. If its a work vehicle and you can afford to spend the money because it will benefit the job fair enough I agree with that. But if its a quoting bus that might see some work every now and again then I can't see any reason in splurging cash that won't make a return on itself. If I start messing with the injection pump ill be getting it done properly as that will give me some gain without risking blowing head gaskets and frying pistons. I only want a bit more poke. Helping it breathe better by better air filter and clean intercooler have benefits but no need for big expensive shiny bits.
  23. I bet that low of a felling cut knackered your chain. It's fallen probably because the ground is saturated and coupled with a bit of wind less shear force is needed to fall over.
  24. +1 for tapatalk. Super simple. Barely use safari now.
  25. No work related machinery fails (recently). But did this today. A foot either side and I would have managed to get through. I found the softest bit and sank within 3ft. Tractor had to drag me out!
