  1. The bend is there as expected. It's where it sits on the post it keeps coming off. I don't know if its sitting out of line on the post or has bent slightly when I put it on,but it appears to sit on the groove in the post ok. Ill have a bit more of a fettle and try a new spring. The rest of the mechanism is fine. I'm on the 3rd brake band with this saw in 5 years. Might be time for a new one soon if it carries on. Stihl or husky?
  2. My little 260 destroyed a brake band the other week. Fixed it and it was ok. But now the spring that is in the mechanism won't stay connected to its little post at the back of the unit. It's 3 times now its come off and it's getting annoying. It seems it might be bent but I straightened it and it came off again. Any ideas for this? It's a great little saw but I'm reluctant to use it without a chain brake!
  3. I'm very happy with my 362. Had it a bit over a year now. Love using it. I hadn't used any earlier models so can't compare but it suits me perfectly! On a 20" bar.
  4. Ill be buying one soon. I had a feel and thought its a great little saw. It's out of its depth with takedowns so I wouldn't use it for that but pruning jobs where I abuse my sugoi it will come in handy. Ill let you have a go of mine if you want
  5. That was about 5% of the total beds on this job. The flail was used to see how it does. Will be getting it again this week. They don't take long to cut and clear but the flail would cut and mulch them a lot quicker.
  6. I was always neutral about TW. 190 and bigger ones have always been alright and been good to use. The 150 is a bit weedy IMO. Used a quadchip for the first time today chipping shrubs that have been used as trimmed hedges for a few years. Most of it was Laurel. I think 2 or 3 pieces wouldn't go in properly out of at least 40 of them which were multi stemmed. The strength on the rollers is immense. Good thick spring. The ones on a tw150 I can pull off with one hand. Says a lot about them really. I would have been there forever today with a 150.
  7. If your thinking of Greenmech. Speak to PeteB. If bandit speak to global Newark, timberwolf speak to orange plant/sas, Schleising speak to overland, Jensen speak to redwood. Will that work?
  8. The chipper might only be running for a couple hours a day so may be 5 litres a day on average but may go up and down depending on the job. On another note, if you can afford it get a quadchip. Used both and much prefer the quadchip in many ways!
  9. Indeed. We had 7 years out of a navara and it didn't have the best record. Last few years it was just giving up! My disco is 17 years old and only needs minor things and is great fun. Never thought id learn so much in 8 months of owning it!
  10. Sounds about right. Don't look at shiny tree gear so much anymore. Tend to price up tarting the landy instead. It's a bug!
  11. Sort of. I like tinkering with it and looking at bits for it I can't afford. I do fix stuff sometimes.
  12. I didn't know it, but it seems that my land rover is my free time hobby!
  13. That ones a cracker They've just planted a group of those in Liverpool. Where they rebuilt edge lane they planted some. Done know how long they will last but is a good way of getting a native (Ish) species in the urban environment.
  14. I'm on insa turbo Dakar/desert track. Same tread as bfg MUDs and wear a bit quicker but do quite well. Only had them on a couple of months so can't comment on durability. Give a good amount of grip too. I think ill go to either cooper discoverer next or to bfg mud km2s. Aiming for a slightly wider tyre next!
  15. Hired in a hedge flailing contractor to help us on a job ripping out loads of shrubs. What we got done today with this is easily best part of a week cutting and chipping. Made a right mess but did a good job! No windows were harmed in the making of this post Upside is I found a tenner in one of the shrub beds. Winner!
  16. Didn't need to with that rain today! Found hundreds of bottles and cans and bags of rubbish and all sorts. Got to go back and do a litter pick!
  17. Bramble and buddleia bashing today. I love those blades for the strimmers. Had to clear a 10ft strip right round this site
  18. Wondered how long that would take! I'm 22. Use a 23 yr old chipper!
  19. I use a Schleising that's older than me regularly and it chomps brash much better than a timberwolf and is much more solidly built!
  20. The guy looks like he's holding a foot too. Even though the mooses legs are all firmly on the ground!
  21. Yeah that's shopped. The log piles on left and right are the same!
  22. Haha I'd put most of it in there so Its only fair to let you take it out!
  23. If the client doesn't care about your safety and is negligent/ignorant towards their responsibilities as a tree owner in the case of an unsafe tree. I wouldn't want to work for them. Look after number one. Not worth the hassle breaking your back to work for pennies at the end of the day. There are easier ways to make money!
  24. Definitely one load. I think there was a little mound of soil under that too but it's about as much as a transit load. No room for any kit though! Bugger off ed ill have myself a tipper eventually!
  25. It's like a big red yacht It gets knocked a bit but I chose capacity over driveability! All has to be dug out too!!
