1. Chip from today. Was getting left elsewhere on site. So we made sure we fit it all in one!
2. Sugoi 360mm. Won't have anything else! I love a fast cutting silky. Might get a gomtaro pro for those diddy reductions. Sugoi doesn't suit cutting 3mm twigs and is a bit scary cutting very close to soft fleshy fingertips!
3. Best way is get out and see what's around. Photos in books show you one thing but you really learn from seeing it in different situations
4. I've got a chestnut to take out in the next few weeks. Bleeding canker in a limb has allowed a weak spot to form, looks like white rot, dropped an 8" limb into the road. Customer asked about removing 2/3 of the tree leaving a suppressed stem remaining. No chance I said. The main tension roots and parts of the stem had plenty decay in them! Was not leaving that there. Will try and get back in some daylight and get some pictures for this thread. It's got extensive wounding and BC and signs of further infection but not sure what yet.
5. I did it a while back in my harness hanging on a petzl swivel. I was nearly seeing my breakfast for a 2nd time that day!
6. If its locked in the gear in position it should be fine. Other than that a spare part or recondition should do it. Should have bought a warn! Just picked myself a reconditioned m8000 for £150 plus the cost of a 100' synthetic line. Bargain!
7. Sorted now cheers Chris
8. I'm after a groundy for a fairly straight forward day on Monday. Two jobs both pruning. Nothing difficult. Would accept a climber instead if you've got a free day. Either Is good for me! Contact me through pm or at 07841128366 Cheers
9. Want me to come and have a nose Steve? Where's the tree?
10. I got rid of my caritools and got some wire gate DMM aero carabiners. Rated to 22kn so will take any saw, if desperate they can be quickly taken off and even used in a rescue situation. At £8 they are the same as a caritool. When not used they will sit against the harness and not catch on everything. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
11.
Hey paul nothing yet, will send an email to chase it up a bit see if ive got it or not!

12. IMO it would do the saw no good at all. That's a lot of chain to pull!
13. 180horse John Deere and a chain round my towbar. Popped right out.
14. Yep. That was well buried.
15. I did not appreciate this! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
16. Nope. They are only rated as side Ds!
17. Hahahaha that is brilliant!
18. Here you go. Just for fun
19. I've filmed some cutting with the saw on a 20". It's still in the camera so will get it up this afternoon after I've finished tinkering!
20. Roses are Red Apples are fruity Watch your lasagne It might be black beauty!
21. This one. Remove the spark arrestor for full effect http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/STIHL-066-MS-660-EXHAUST-NEW-/230815118421
22. It came from eBay. Just type in ms660 exhaust
23. Jon if you want I'll run my 660 with its dual port exhaust on the 20" in a lump of beech tomorrow. Will look for a piece that uses a lot of the bar and on a new chain.
24. All I have now is unseasoned. Didn't manage to get a great stock in last year to get a good pile of seasoned stuff. However next year will be good with lots of ash beech and oak in the pile!
