  1. Hi, could someone give me an idea of what this fungi is on the base of an oak, I’m assuming there’s two different types, tree is leaning towards the house and the home owner is concerned about possible failure. Tia.

    Ibc cages

    Ibc cages

Hi, just wondered if anyone is selling any ibc cages for storing logs in... I'm located about 20mins from gatwick airport. I'm happy to collect. The ones I've seen on eBay etc all seem to be up north. Any help appreciated
  4. It's a shame to hear this..... I've worked with Harry on a couple of occasions whilst subbing to other companies and always found him to be decent and hard working.

    Brush cutters

I recently bought a 560, we use it for clearing long grass & nettles, and have used it with a blade for clearing brambles and scrub. Can't fault it really has bags of power, took me a while to set the harness up to get it at the right angle but once that's done it's not missed a beat.
  6. It's frustrating when it happens, I went through a bt cable that was under a connie stump, the stump was well proud of the soil level so the cable ended up about 4in deep! We scanned it first but didn't show up, the customer was fine about it as she saw how shallow it was. She said she would contact bt direct and get it sorted. I would only attemp a repair if you know for sure it will work otherwise it could come back to bite you later.
  7. Hi David, what is the plan for the oak in the picture? I went to see a large oak today, that shed a large limb, (approx 1/3 of the crown) back in June, it has what appears to be cubical rot in the shed limb. Would be interested what plans if any you have for your oak? Thanks Ollie
  8. My airstreams are 10.5 uk size, so they do half sizes, ideal as I found the 11's too big.
  9. "Internet insurance is dangerous. Anyone with a tipper insured by Direct Line? You're not insured." Ain't that the truth, I would definitely speak to the insurance company and not use comparison sites, half of them don't know what a tipper is!
  10. I'm in the process of buying a second hand transit at the moment, and I know exactly what you mean. Really depends on your budget, I've bought the newest lowest mileage one I could afford if that makes sense. For me it's important to be able to go into the lez around London so that was a consideration as well. Mine is ex bt and used to be a Luton which is having tipping gear put on as we speak, I will defo go for aluminium chip box as it's light and strong. My old transit has a steel box section and ply chip box which is strong but quite heavy, truck empty weighs 2600kg. Try not to get one that's been used as a tree wagon as more than likely it will have had a hard life and if it's done close to the mileage your are talking about then it's not going to last long before your having spend on it. Good luck with you hunt.
  11. As above really, just looking for somewhere that takes chip, logs and burnables. Any help appreciated Ollie.
  12. Hi I might have a job near Horam East Sussex and will need to get rid of several loads of oak, all log wood, but will be as cut from a tree we may be dismantling. Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks Ollie
