  1. Exactly! You only need to worry when it stops leaking!
  2. Came across this on bay, don't know if anyone's seen it yet. Made me chuckle at some of the points! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Defender-Absolute-pile-of-Crap-200-tdi-/271072662230?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item3f1d3092d6#ht_500wt_922
  3. I found that in wet conditions the lock jack is not smooth at all, just jerks its way down, that was on poison hivee. In dry it is smooth as you need it to be.
  4. Good point Andy, maybe the 4m stihl one would get used in the future as crown lifting does come up now and again. If its looking tricky to get a massive one I think we will go to doing it out a mewp. Only thing is, I don't have a mewp ticket so we would have to hire a guy with one. Might look into putting the money into that instead. I agree on all other points about length of time for using one and also the quality of the job. Climbing we really think will take too long compared to the easiness of a mewp on the job.
  5. Hi Mark

Sorry I've only just seen the message you left. I didn't know but the logs had already been sorted by a guy doing some chipping on the site too and I took a load for myself. Cheers though

  6. This is a job we've got two weeks on. Loads of trees to lift up to 6m. We were thinking a mewp. But if we could find a pole pruner to do as high then it would pay for itself. There's so many that you could climb ones where they are close and swing between them. We are still weighing up how to do this. Climbing may work out feasible.
  7. Complete tree care would be my first guess
  8. I'm looking for the longest pruner I can get, do stihl make one longer than 3.9m? Or any other makes? Need it for a big crown lifting job.
  9. Done that one for you Have fun with it
  10. Story of my life Nice butt

  14. I didn't say anything was up with willow Jonny, I've got a stack of it and pop and connie that I need to mix in. I've sorted myself some timber from another job now. I can't collect this stuff anyway.
  15. Come on at least be realistic! Mculloch?
  16. I've got a job shifting some logs round from a site, it's mainly like with some horse chestnut and possibly beech but I'm not sure on the site plans. I'll be going in a tractor with a trailer so if anybody wants some logs then please let me know. It's too far to be dragging them all the way home and I have a huge stack already. You can contact me through here or at 07841128366 Cheers
  17. I've been told its more about girth, not length
  18. I know, smartarse But I've got loads of average stuff and if its sycamore ill take it but not willow.
  19. A battering wouldn't kill it. I had one come back from a 1cm stump within 3 weeks!

  23. That really sucks rick, heard this through Simon at ATC. Was gutted when I heard! Heal quick and don't let it knock your confidence! As good a reminder as any to make sure your clipped in properly. Climb safe!
  24. Wigan, Lancashire I might be interested in some of that too. We could probably collect it aswell.
  25. I used a suede and nubuck protector once, never leaked. They are leaking now although its getting in from the sole that's beginning to hang off!
