  11. best to work out your soil type, PH level and moisture content first then select your trees (tree breeds) which will best grow on that site, i think thats the best starting point.

Cannington college are running Apprenticeships in Arboriculture a bit like the old YTS , I think its run over 3 years with a wide range of units to suit the student, Mike Cullen is the programme manager hes a really good chap to know, i think the money is still only about £2.50 per h and a bit more if your over 19 its not great money bit its a first rug on the ladder and low cost labour, the biggest prob i can see is in insurance for the youngns . www.bridgwater.ac.uk>News

  20. OAK is great if used correctly, i think of it not as a standard burning log but as a qualaty commodity, i cook and heat my house on wood with a range of stoves, by the way we are the only house around here which has the windows open in winter and we only ever where pants in the house as its too hot, even in the summer we burn wood, hot hot hot i love it, so i know my wood, oak is a good night log, it will love you and still be there in the morning, not rouring hot but smoldering, ready to fire up once you open the vents, i love oak:thumbup: hope you like that gensetsteve

  23. The ability to quickly recognise redution points and the strength of mind, even towards the end of a hard days climbing to accuratly deposit arizings out of a tree to the ground and to know when its time to come down, above all to have developed sufficient knowledge to know right from wrong and not to tolarate bullies, be the last man standing and drag brash when on the ground to the end.
