CRIST MATE, most people link flyers with the traveling folk!, at the mo its bad around here with ids sticking up sighns everywhere, you ant going to get rich in this industry with flyers- sorry to damp your fire,the best thing you can do is get yourself a level 2 arb Q and build your rep from there.

yes its close-direct damage - high risk, -indirect damage, what soil type? i hope you have PI insurance ,if so i will post my calculations tommorow, its fairly simple to work out, it may not be what your client wants to hear. age of house ? stem diam of tree@ ground level would also be good to have, plus confirm distance tree to house, plus soil type? sorry for any bad spellings i dont normally type and its time for my ZMA -

Try taking "support formula ZMA" food supplements ,just before bed, I take mine with a glass of red wine, or two, and the next day its like you are 10 years younger.

Hi Tree Man Tom, picked it up today-2 owners from new the last one had it from 1982, gen 677 hrs on clock also in the deal wessex 710 topper and a link box and road registerd, had a demo yesterday of the oxdale 400 pto splitter-small but has a good head on it, it will be fine for the work i have in mind, the idear is its so small as a tractor splitter unit that as an add on service we will access clients gardens and fully process all arizings on site. I have got demand for this even within urban sites, it could work out well who knows, its all work and money at the end of the day. -

Hi Phil, soft wood , hard wood , this winter they will be glad of anything thats seasoned, just tell em its mixed seasond fire wood at the rate of hardwood and that they are lucky to get it . because of the recession there will be a shortage of firewood this year, you mark my bad spellt word!!!

Thanks Hamadryad , you speak wise words. My approach to life is a little unorthodox, in a short time from begining my Arb education, late in life, i have elevated my career far beyond what i would have ever thought was possible, i do have probs with spelling but the girl in the office sorts that out for me and i do still have a great laugh every day of the week, i cant help it, but when my reports go out they are spot on and bulletproof. any remarks from anyone my shoulders are broad enough to take em.

You need first to carfully evaluate the type of risk direct or indirect carry out as much site tests as you can , soil type, confirm foundation deapth and type of foundation, pile & beam , raft , stip, cos at this point you KNOW nothing about the site only when you have assessed everything and this should involve consultation with the original developer, architct and hitoric records from building controle, exsplore every avenue and include with in yuor report, then make a calculated judgment and if you feel there is still a risk that you may loose YOUR house in 5 years state a well worded caveat. I do have some very good ones which i only use when im up against a wall, remember its your word, on your PI and it could be your house that you loose. NHBC chap 4.2 is a good start but there is lots of material on this subject. sorry if anyone thinks im being condescending

I know im a newbe and everyone seems to be avoiding me ,maybe its the speed of my finger, or no one can read anthing im writting, i think i might retire after this last post, but here we go . I m 48 yoa and still on the tools and up the trees, maybe some of you senior members who are no longer on the tools have forgoten what really goes on, all jobs are tight now and its a rush to get as many tasks done in a day as possible, so enevitably trucks do get overloaded.Daily.

Hi Steve, heres my take, 1 Take into account owners veiw (he wonts it gone) 2 Soil PI What is it do a test. 3 TPO if not TPOd:thumbup: go with clients requirements. 4 How to remove? 5 The house is older than the tree IMO (BS5837) the tree would never have servived the delights of the developer! 6 Recommendations- stage its removel regardles of PI its too close to the building both forms of damage could apply. 7 Put in place a very specific caveat.

Ironing contractor, i put adds in the local rag and take in peoples washing and do it all in the evening, just lately its paying more money than tree work and i only do one bag a night:lol:

Can i join? i got a new one a few mths ago, with all the extras i paid about£26,000 i wont bother you with the minor probs, air con leaks water on the inside of the cab and lots of other small pobs but its done well , its only on its second tran box already and needs a gear box, its a heavey duty Hi cap with under 6000 on the clock strainge thing is i love it, we ran a mog b4 and inbetween going to the dealer we are in and out of jobs and more mobile, we have been abusing it , load it to the max when ever we can but it loves it.

Im with you on this Ben,SPOT ON, Burearacy is necessary if you want a large group of people to abide by a given set of rules, if you do not want or need this, bureaucracy is unnecessary.Those who make the rules should most defo abide by them.

I think Maripilus but could also be Grifola ? picks not that clear but given the target area and age and size of tree take it down.
