  2. Hi ADB328, Scottythepinetree,Hama, are we talking easyread field books SPECIFIC for Arbs and students? or along the lines of Diagnosis and prognosis of the development of Wood Decay in Urban Trees? who no one can afford to buy? i just thought a really good field book wood do the job ,as iv discribed before.
  3. ok its a long shot and yes i cook all the food in my house, id seen on one of these shows Torino i dont know if iv spelt it ok but in short it was slow cooked meat , then chilled with a jelliteen , you then slice and eat as you like from the fridge, iv slow cooked me rabbit with veg and smokey bacon, and roasted toms, do i just add the jelley when its cooked or when its chilled ? any idears ? ps its on the go tonight.
  4. I dont think any malice was ment we all work hard lets spend it how we like, life is far too short, if i had the spare money maybe id do one after all its better than the tax man having it and before you know it were dead:thumbup:
  5. PANTS:thumbdown:
  6. congats , i got a bow and arrow set, took me back a bit, but it was the best pressy i got, iv been chasing my youngest around the fields and trees with it, she loves it and so do i:thumbup:
  7. I should of also said i nearly lost an eye in a fight at a titty bar in manley:thumbup1:
  8. sound advice, while i was there on a holiday visa ,if the bad thing had happend id of been in a whole load of POO , its good to bring that up as we all think it will never happen , i did while working there get a burn scar off an o20 which had lost its or part of its side cover. had a great time.
  9. Back packers are good i stayed in one at surfers p and it even had a double water bed:thumbup: had loads of fun.
  10. Yep we spend alot of time thinking of where wed like to go ,and sorting out the holiday is easy, we like the resort so much wev been going there for the last ten years- day trip out to Lyme regis and best of all its only about 20 miles away:lol:
  11. Yep iv just set up doing the same thing only with a kubota mini unit its good to provide extra services and with more and more clients getting log burners it makes sence ,the only thing is how long will it be before arbs start doing it as a free service!
  12. I dont know i thought it was the lights which provide the feeding ground and what ever bats are around will feed, the pips are great just fliting around your head , its one of gods free treats, something you cant replicate on the internet.
  13. Hi Natha, i have had 2 u600s and my last mog was a u1200 ag which i ran for 10 years it did loads of work and when i sold it i think it was only for £1000 less than what i paid for it 10 years ago, you do need to be mechanically minded
  14. Youv got to much money:001_tt2:
  15. They do to some extent, you asked and i gave my view, i havent come across one arb book which answers all my questions i always have to cross ref a number of books, all the ones we all use are good and the ones mentioned, but all lack something, they for another word are not the full package. A Climbers version and perspective taking into account current uk legislation aswell and most common uk native species could be interesting, could your version be the one? there will always be slightly different veiws on things, in arb nothing is black and white, stick to your own formulated views and dont be offended by the views of others:thumbup1:
  16. Hi Hama, just clear info, need to know stuff, without a story, that can be used as reference material- in large print and simply written, my eyes are very bad and i think im not alone, good example - maual of wood decays in trees , by K.Weber,C.Mattheck its a great field book an does the job also try to keep the cost down ,you know how much money we all make:lol:hope that helps
  17. No, this is goog stuff, i have one like timberbears but she is no good at cooking, i have now replaced her as a bagging device as she was begining to give me earache:lol:
  18. There flight style, habitat, size, face and ears, not sure if they are Bandits they do have very dark faces. I did last year sight Lesser/Greater Horseshoes in the lane ( not sure which one as iv only seen the one size) but have not seen any this year. Interest was born some years ago by Treelife, since then its just grown also the local Batt group help identify flight paths around my area. I have also included information regarding Batt sp within my reports when a specific sp / flight path are known to be active or pressant close to trees. clients always take an interest which could then develop. They are great little things:thumbup:
  19. Hi Doug, weigh up your needs now and allow for future growth of your business-will you require more buildings in the future? also your planning proposal may get nocked down in size by the LPA so if you go in asking for slightly more than you require now, you should end up with what you want if its granted plus you havent got to build all the buildings at once it can, once and if permissions is granted, be done then to suit your needs and pocket.Talk to your planners, LPA, and engage your LPA tree officer, and your parish council ,it sounds like a reasonable proposal on the face of it, as for national parks i think they have there own planning department so maybe test the waters with them first. i am involved with my own LPA and have some knowlage of the way it works, but it does help if you know someone on the inside . hope that helps a bit.
  20. Im pretty sure iv got Pips in my barn, i think they roost between the corugated roofing sheets of my timber store, Dutch barn, I like to share there space of an evening with a can of beer, if i stand or sit very still just inside the barn looking up to the roof towards the outside night sky, half looking in and half looking out, just after dark i get a real treat, they will swoop in and out of the barn and get closer and closer to my head to the point that i can feel the draft of there wings on my face. I think its my body heat which intrigues them. We also have a few of those dusk till dawn lights which they use as feeding grounds. This year i enjoyed there company up to the end of november and have seen then on odd warm nights in this mth, i think this warm winter has messed up there normal Torpor patern- im in Somerset i do have some knowlage of batts and iv also got a barn owl in the barn.
  21. Turkey curry from a jar try Pataks- Tikka masala sauce, as im getting on a bit ,with curry, i can get a bit of heart burn but with this one i never do its good stuff.
  22. Hi Littletree, if you have no ties just chance it- i did 2 - 3mth stints on a holiday visa and ended up working 6 days a week, They are really short of skilled climbers and if your good you wont be out of work, sound advice from Taupotreeman get in with the locals down at the RSL Clubs and bond:lol: youl have great fun, each time i was over there i was offered sponsership even at my age and when i was there 1st i was 37 2nd time 38, no probs finding work. I would love to live there, and if the wife ever gets rid of me il be gone like a shot:thumbup1:
  23. I mite have the small manual that comes with the 192t it came in the box, if thats the one, what did you need to know?
  24. depends what you have to work with, where your gaps are and age of hedge as some stems may be too thick or mite snap as you try to lay them, this can be a problem when trying to close an open gap in the hedge, you may have to work or lay a species that would have been better to coppice, Holly,Beech and Oak may also be a consideration, you could also select a few single trees within the hedge to remain for Habitat diversity and Amenity value, you do have to watch the Oak with horses as it is poisonous to them.
  25. what about Paint your wagon, Clint was great in that he even sang in it and as for Lee Marvin well he plays the best drunk ever, and how great was Clint as his mate sharing the wife like that, great film and great to sing along with, best to see it on the big screen:thumbup: if you get the chance.
